I am starting to do some career flying in PF and I am finding the campaign a little dry.

The campaigns that other people have made...are they considered richer in quality? Maybe more objects around...or a few more varied missions?

Do they offer a little more then the stock campaigns?

I enjoy using UberDemon's mission builder, and saving the mission's that are created into a campain type career. It's a great programable tool http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

There are a lot of VERY talented contributors out there who have made some very entertaining campaigns and missions. Some long, some short, but I'd recommend downloading those and trying them. I can't remember any that I tried I didn't want to finish. Only beware that the number of planes and scenery they include could over-tax a low-end system.

If you want to fly on the Eastern front, my campaigns at Airwarfare (http://www.airwarfare.com/Sims/FB/fb_campaigns_dof.htm) have improved templates with far more objects. You will also need the latest 4.04m DGen.exe (http://www.il2center.com/DGen4045.rar)- extract and replace the one in the main FB folder.

Human made non dynamic campagins are generally better than what DGen has to offer. Human made campaigns generally have far more attention to detail and far more interesting ground targets.
Not to mention way more interesting briefings.

I beg to differ with Tomas (I much prefer DGen campaigns over static ones) but it is ultimately a matter of personal preference.

Both Disaster on the Frontiers and True Pacific have their own Dgen folders. Are they compatable? That is, can I install both of their contents into the game's root Dgen without conflict, or can I only use one at a time?

Yep, your supposed to extract and/or copy the contents of the DGen folders into the Forgotten Battles Dgen folder. DGen will only run campaigns in found in the main DGen folder.

True Pacific and Disaster can both be installed over a default installtion with no problems, and Pacific and European DGen mods will not conflict with each other.

FYI, the readmes for both mods have fairly explicit installation instructions.

Thank you Nimits. Yes, I read all 3 of the ReadMe's, and they implied that, but did say so specifically. I'm just super cautious before I start dumping files in. There are always unintended consequences. Thank you for your patience.

The next time you install the game, or before you install any mods, make a copy of your entire DGen folder. It isn't large, and it's then simple to remove and replace an altered one.

The beta DGen.exe 4.0.4.5 that makes the JU88 and Italian fighters flyable in DGen is fully backwards compatible.

Check out the Campaign Links in my Sig. One is a list of Campaigns voted on and you can find some real good ones. It's not an offical contest or anything, but at least you can see what others thought about some good ones.
