Hi all,

Where are you Leitmotiv? A major contributor to this forum and you have vanished.

Your humour and historical knowledge is missed by all.

A crate of finest Scotch awaits your return...(in a virtual sense of course!).

Best Regards,
MB_Avro.

Well, his last post consisted of these words:

"EIN REICH! EIN VOLK! EIN FUHRER!"

So who knows what happened to him.

Ah..thanks..

His humour is not perhaps to everyone's taste. And neither is mine. But it does not make him a bad person.

What was the context?

Has he been banned and by whom?

If I post this will I be banned? The original poster died by suicide in 1945...

"EIN REICH! EIN VOLK! EIN FUHRER!"

I am very proud that my forefathers gave the Nazi war-machine a 'bloody nose' in 1940 during the Battle of Britain.

Best Regards,
MB_Avro.

look, its not constructive to keep saying
"EIN REICH! EIN VOLK! EIN FUHRER!" unecessarily, people will get the wrong idea....

I hereby suggest that anyone who says "EIN REICH! EIN VOLK! EIN FUHRER!" be banned permamently with no possibility of parole.

No, I'm quite sure he hasn't been banned, Avro http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I wonder if it would be against the TOS to make "EIN REICH! EIN VOLK! EIN FUHRER!" into one's sig?

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif Leitomotiv has joined Bearcat, MadMaxx, and others in the job of unthanked moderator?

So there's no need to speculate he's been banned for saying "EIN REICH! EIN VOLK! EIN FUHRER!" repeatedly then? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

He was being abusive. For that IMO he was thrown to the wolves. "EIN REICH! EIN VOLK! EIN FUHRER!" was probably the straw that broke the camels back.

I hope he's able to come back. While I'm not appreciative on his views about IL2 I do find him an informative poster. (Almost makes me want to buy MAW.)

imho, leitmotiv just left this forum, because he realized, that Oleg and his worshippers just started to officialy kill flight sim world ... Instead of giving people something new, he is making afford to fix new things...
this game is 7 years OLD... it should be open open for modders...

Until 4.09 comes out this sim already has gone down to the dogs BECAUSE someone thought he could make things better REGARDLESS who`s INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY this game is.

If Leitmotiv supports the ILLEGAL mod then I`m sure he did the right thing ie. left. WHATEVER the case, you can not justify a usage of this mod because it has been created through breaking the law.

This game can be 14 years old aswell though the makers of this game and ONLY them can give permission to unlock code/mod.You got that?
Why is it so hard to understand?

so wait like sissies for BOB till next Christmas and till then, you won't get anything new, just some silly plane models which never flew...

Sorry, as rnzoli said, those are just bored Poor Nancies(R) who can`t get anything more out of this sim.I keep making weekly/monthly breaks from it and I`m never bored, nor will anyone be who is intelligent enough to USE this sim without being bored.

And you said you left because things were simplified and FRAGGING party took place.Well, I `ve seen you fly many times and shot you down with no trouble whatsoever. You`re a bad virtual pilot. You just quit because you couldn`t take it anymore.

And just for the fans of Leitmotiv.Guess who threw the first nazi accusations in the discussion that took place two days ago.Ring a bell?

I am not certain, but I think he got banned for his `Ein reich, fuhrer` whatever sarcasm issued at Taylortony.

I actually think he went too far there, though I did not complain (I don`t do that kind of thing). Anyway, I felt he got a bit over-excited and made a mistake...

Still, I believe Leitmotiv is a good contributer (and a decent chap) to this forum and I would not wish him permanently banned at all.

Lit can give it out pretty well, extrolling the best things of FSX, and BOB WOV, while bashing the IL-2 series. If you point out these other sims also have their faults he resorts to name calling. If he's on holidays it may give him awake up call.

I could be wrong here, But it strikes me, tony was out of line with his demanding the dicussion thread be closed.

A perma-ban is meaningless, all you have to do is change your name, email and use a different ISP, like switch from cable to DSL, which would give you a differnet IP address. If you really want to get back on a forum or blog or whatever, there are many ways. Another way is to use a different email, different name and go to an internet cafe or friend or relatives house. What me?? You think I have done this sort of thing?? Nah!!!

Leitmotiv IS Crazy Ivan!

Both are two sides of the same character, split and divided by a great rift in their personality turning the one side dark, the other bright. A relentless torment ensued, evolving into war between those sides, until one was at last evicted from the kingdom.

I am personally filled with deep admiration for the ingenius moderator who leapt like a backyard tomcat on my mouse in order to kill the refreshing thrashing the troops were giving the granny brigade. It was a remarkable stretch to construe my observation on the poster's exclusionary and totalitarian thinking as a calumny most foul, but, with paucity of learning and wit, anything is possible in this old world. A child could see that my post meant that to believe only the "onliners" were the "IL-2 community" was the same sort of thinking as the NSDAP who thought they were the only real German community. In debate, to say I labeled the poster a Nazi or a Hitler is "reaching"---reaching, indeed. But, it was clever. It killed the debate in favor of the hysterical grannies and set a sterling example for all of the high caliber of the forum.

VERY perceptive, as usual, joeap. The sig is a translation of what a French general said who witnessed the Charge of the Light Brigade in the Crimean War. I meant it to apply to the massacre of the Devastators at Midway, and all well-known bomber fiascos. By George, I never thought of the application to combat flight sims, but it does fit! Prize goes to you!
