...since i started a thread so here goes.

Today i sat on the bus home and found myself thinking about fb/aep/pf (weird?), and i thought about all the stuff that had happend ever since i started flying online. I thought about the early days where i cudnt get the plane on the runway in full real, and i thought about all the help people had given me, people who i couldnt even remember the names of. I thought about all the people id flown wingman to and all the poeple who had covered me. I thought about what id rather be doing on a wednesday night other than sitting on HL and talkin with friends and flying. Then i thought, there's nothin id rather be doing.

So i got in, got HL up and jumped on Ukded. Wow! Fantastic. Just what id been thinkin about. Got into a 10 minute DF in my focke wolfe with a P39. Turning inside then out, scissors scattering his fire past my canopy. Then i stalled out at 400m and crashed. Its amazing how well a early 190 turns at low speeds with flaps.

Then i got onto WC, same thing. Winged up with some guy. Didnt speak to each other but we each knew the other was there. I stuck to him, covered his shots, and he covered my shots. We got a kill each and when we landed we thanked each other. Than i left. I wasnt really sure about the point of this post. Maybe it was because i think we take for granted what we have, maybe its because i havnt posted for a while, or maybe, its because i was thinkin about it on the way home from college. Im really not certain. While im here, ill thank everyone that helped me get to where i am today in the game. I'll also thank all the people i know online for being mates. Maybe this post is gay, but i dont care because tomorrow ill be on hyperlobby flying and talkin with my friends. Thanks.

I see what you mean man I but its not gay to speak your mind about this stuff because to me there is almost nothing more I love than this stuff, but I havent been flying much at all (online) since I got married and with my wife and job and night school and all, but hell with all the excuses. I started in about late 1997 with Jane's WW2 Fighters online and was hooked emediatley, then came HyperLobby and I spent some late nights learning from friends and flying missions that cannot be discribed but will forever be in my memory and I miss those wingys I had because I never hear from them anymore but its amazing how a sim can effect you like that because I have a personal connection to it. But it has conflicted with my real world life so I had to stop online flying, but if you ask me if you love what your doing then thats all that counts so f--k it. Fly and be happy.
I am close to retiring from the military and I can see myself getting back into it when I get settled down again but first I have to finish getting my private license(cessnas). I have a chance to get a ride in a P51 next year at Reno Nevada. A B-model two seater so I hear, without the bubble style canopy. To me that will be the ultimate. Cant wait. Well anyway, I know how you feel and I hope that I can get online some day and fly with you. Take care, Manteo

Not gay, just spot on. Been flying online now since PF came out, and thanks to one or two people who have 'taken me under their wing' I am slowly improving.

Trouble is I have'nt played any other games (except Half-Life and Brothers in Arms.......goodness knows what I'd do if I took them online also, give up work I guess!!) since going online with PF. This sim is so addictive I could give up beer! But not quite yet http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

It really is satisfying if you team up with someone, and are successful at covering their backs, or vice versa. Unfortunately, I find too many people do not realise when you fly with them, and do not reciprocate, but maybe its just me. Sometimes I too wish to fly alone and take on the world.

Despite various moans and groans from other people about Oleg, planesets, patches etc, I am just very happy and very grateful to be part of this community, having a ball everytime I go online (well, usually). This so far has been the ONLY game that has taken up so much of my time, and I've been playing games since Breakout was conceived, it really has gripped me that much. Long may it continue.

After reading the first two posts I couldn't help but thinking it seemed to be some sort of support group. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

I certainly hear where you guyz are coming from though. I was never into video games but thought I'd try Il-2 when I saw it in the store 4.5 years ago. Since then I've bought more than 50 other games but don't play them. I install them and play for about an hour, sometimes less, then put them on the shelf where they belong. I still dislike video games. I have however, always loved the Il-2 series, with the exception to PF.

Just tonight I was trying to think of who I could give all those games to. Il-2 is the only game I'll keep. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Well my fellow mate, your first post was realy deep.

Ummm, that all said, typed, and thought of, I think you may have a problem.

Now, the first step in dealing with this issue, is admitting that you have a problem.

We all know Maple has a problem, mayby more than one lol.

Mayby I'll start a new FBAA meeting thread again. Ya, friday when I get off work.

Danjama, I tried to pm you but like 90% of the time I can't get the pm thing to work. If you are serious, pm me.

Maple T, I remember a few years back you started a thread asking for any info on the MapleTigers. I had from time to time done some searches and came up with nothing. Did you have any luck?

As for the Il-2 and our better haves, well I have solved the issue. The first step to solving a problem is admitting and defining the problem. Then the next step is to find a solution. My divorce will be finalized soon. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

That should make quitting smoking a bit easier. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

There is nothing better in gaming than to have a good time with decent people online. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
