http://www.bleedingcool.com/20...ins-creed-the-comic/ (http://www.bleedingcool.com/2009/10/28/preview-assassins-creed-the-comic/)

A new Assassins Creed comic book, set during the Roman Era, which will be released in France on Nov. 13th!

Spoiler:

I remember reading somewhere that there was a Roman Assassins statue in the Villa, perhaps this may be his story?

I hope someone can translate it, because my French is a little rusty seeing as I only took it for 3 years. (And the government wouldn't give me the GCSE result anyway because the teachers were making us cheat without us knowing! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif )

thekyle0

I think this might actually be an indicator that it won't be set during the Roman empire. They'd probably try to conceal the story until they were ready to start building hype for the 3rd game. This is most likely just to flesh our the history of the assassins.

But wait, I thought Lucy said in AC1

"That little war the assassins and the templars started in the third crusade, it never finished"

Or she said something to that effect at least, so if they're not fighting the templars, who are they fighting?

Xanatos2007
10-29-2009, 05:59 AM
"That little fight your ancestor started during the Third Crusade - it never ended."

Not sure if she was reffering to the whole Pie vs. Cake ordeal or just that little betrayal by Al Mualim.

MartaVasques

Actually, I think there’s a pretty good chance of AC III being set in Ancient Rome. *crosses fingers*

First of all, it has been mentioned countless times here at the forum as a wonderful age for the game, because of the mythology, architecture, the massive amount of possible assassination targets…

And second, if the Ubi team went to Italy to do research for AC II, they could have done some on the Roman Empire as well, while they were at it.

Ubi, please, set the third game in Ancient Rome! Pleeeease! With sugar on top! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/sadeyes.gif

caswallawn_2k7
10-29-2009, 06:20 AM
but AC + project natal = fail
fixed, it's been proven by several dev teams that due to the camera being used by microsoft the quality it too low to get a decent high quality threshold for movement, meaning it can only take large movements and convert them to the screen (think the old eye toy on PS2) and even then many dev's are coming away from it as they are aware very few users will want to be jumping round their front room (or don't have the space to jump round) meaning they loose sales.

before you use the Wii as an example why this sell's there is no game on the Will you cant play while sitting on the sofa (not including Wii fit) using little more than a flick of the wrist.

theres no chance that AC will stop with just 3 games. in ezio's villa, you will see statues of roman, egyptian, and other assassins from different time periods...so the possibilities are there...just keep supporting ubi and buy the games...and they will keep making them..

Thanks a lot, Marta. The images alone are great, but having words to go with them is all the greater. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Yeah, I'm really digging that outfit and that time period.

And as for Altair starting the Templar-Assassin war, well, both of the factions existed before that conflict, so they both have origin stories to tell. And who knows, even if it may not relate to the Templar conflict, a Roman Assassin's story could be just as interesting.

MEGA SPOILERS: In an interview with Kristen Bell where she pulled an excerpt from AC2's script, Desmond said something along the lines of, "we've had it all wrong. This is a bigger threat than the Templars." END MEGA SPOILERS.

So maybe AC III might be about that.

Well, the comic apparently will feature more ancestors than just Aquilus(sp?), since it's called AC: Desmond, and the video preview posted showed pages that had Ezio and Altair as well. So maybe we'll see a LOT of new ancestors, not just one.

To be honest, even though Ubisoft is trying to concentrate on pivotal moments in history, I don't think they would use Italy as a location again, regardless of the time period. Especially since you get to visit Rome in AC2. Not that the Roman empire wouldn't be a cool setting for an AC game.

It's not a big spoiler per say, but it is pretty significant since it basically dwarfs the entire AC1 plot.

I'd recommend you dig through the video thread. It should be somewhere in there.

Actually, I believe she said that before Al Mualim's betrayal was revealed to Desmond.

Then again, the main enemy in a possible AC III set in ancient Rome could ofcourse be the mysterious "bigger threat" from the Kristen Bell interview.
