I hope I'm not out of line posting it here, but I figured I could get a bit more viewership. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

It's 33 MB, and you'll need DivX 5.1 to view it.

Any questions, comments, or critique, are more than welcome. Hope you all enjoy watching it, as much as I did making it. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Great movie!

I just have a few pointers (hope you don't mind):
- The shaking camera seems a bit too jerky on some of the views, especially on the flyby views of the IL2s at the beginning of the film.
- I, for one, would prefer it without the blurring on fly-bys. It might be appropriate to a smaller degree when a fighter flies by the camera very fast, but I don't think it looks good with a slow IL2.

Now that I'm done with the b*tching /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif I can tell you of all the things you did well:
- The music was top-notch and consistently appropriate to the action on-screen. I've seen Hollywood movies that didn't have music as appropriate and as good as this.
- The camera-work was mostly superb, with good angles and good panning.
- The post-production effects were mostly great. The camera shake effect looked very appropriate most of the time, and the blur made the explosions for example look that much more incredible.

I think that minor tweaks to some of the methods you used, as well as the addition of a storyline (based on real historic events preferably) would make your next movie a real cinematic masterpiece.

Keep up the good work!!! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Easily most awesome IL-2 film I've seen so far.

Man, that one closeup of the IL-2 with big guns . . where you are facing the plane on its attack run and see its guns and rockets going all crazy-like . . AWESOME!!

And the one flyby of the ship while rockets and torpedoes are exploding around it and everything is going everywhich way , , and the IL-2s that catch big shells from the ship . . MAN!!

AWESOME!!!

Thanks for the praise, gentlemen. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif AirBot, I used Adobe After Effects to do the non-blurred camera shaking. Using an effect called Motion Sketch, it translates your mouse movements into the frame shaking. Some scenes were tough to get a realistic kind of a shake. I noticed, too, that some seemed a bit too jerky, but I actually think that happens after the DivX endoding process. Anyway, I'll work on my technique forr my next film. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

THAT was an excellent production! Excellent work indeed...plenty of action, drama, and Basil Poledouris is an amazing composer. Starship Troopers musical score probably outshone the movie.

Hi BPond,

Very exciting movie. It looks a damn site better than the game actually does. You've really captured the speed of battle with this film.
I enjoyed it. Thanks! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

WOW, nice effects - very nice friend. I am especially fond of bombing runs. That was one tough destroyer.
