Oleg hasn't given a date, most peoples money is around winter/spring 2007.

I suspect they are aiming for Christmas 2006, so I'd say first quarter 2007.

Maddox Games suspects that "we're lucky if the Beta starts in 2006".

We have a great Combat Flight Simulator for all this years, we have free updates and many people work for this and all this for 40 - 50 Euros or Dollars.

for me and many other players the IL2 Series is the best, just play the game and respect the work of Oleg Maddox and team.

The IL 2 series is like old clasic rock songs.
this is my opinion.

Dont be rush

Yea! Well some of are getting old and we may not be here later so make it sooner, before the game gets too old to support itself. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

The IL2 Series upto PF are on an old engine that although very good (Don't get me wrong) Is showing it's age now.

With all the advances in PC Hardware, it's time that Oleg start from scrach with BoB (Think he is anyway)

I and so should everyone be greatful that the IL2 Series is still supported and not let to pasture like so meny other games that have come and gone......Could be worse. It could be published by EA Games (Pray not)

If 2 weeks = 2 or 3 months for patches, then 2006 for game = around 2008/9 i reckon! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Just kidding.

Every time I see a question like this... and it turns out they're not just curious, but really want BoB soon, I wonder if they have any idea what they have now. Have they given all the planes, especially the older and more obscure a good chance at playing? How about the IL-2? It took me 6 months of playing every day just to get the novice dust knocked off of me on that one. Built any missions in the full mission builder? Really? How 'bout a night mission or one during a thunderstorm or other bad weather? Let's face it; anyone bored with this game simply has NOT explored the possibilities. In about 10 years, I may become adept at all things IL-2 and Pacific Fighters. Until then, I'd rather have the right BoB vs. the right now BoB.

Exactly! Folks banter about around here like Oleg doesn't know what he's doing! Is he and 1C games prefect?... of course not, but let them decide when it is or isn't a good time to punch code or release this or that. Enjoy the game or punch a better line of code yourself, because I'd buy it for sure!

I never said the word bored...and I'm not. I just know that BoB can be so much better than what we have now. I wish Oleg and Crew the best of luck in pulling it off.

And when it's done, it's done.

Just can't wait thats all http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

Every time I see a question like this, I know that others will jump on the Oleg Defense Wagon when it isn't even called for.

That's a fundemental problem with the boards these days. I come here only sparatically to check for updates, see where the community is headed, what the big issues everyone is tackling this month (50 cals, muzzle flashes), but any time I go to ask a question to which I really just want an honest answer for, there's gotta be someone to attack me. (for example, I asked for genuine information on how to fly the P-51 to it's greatest advantage, and someone came on asking how come, after all this time playing the game, I haven't mastered it already. How dare I? To be fair, I also got some good responses from others here)

There are days I enjoy the game, and there are days I don't enjoy it as much. There are days where I couldn't be happier, so glad to have the P-38 to fly around in, and there are days I'm looking at Mossie pictures going "I WANT I WANT I WANT". There are even days of "Been there, done that, time to go under the waves with SH3". Tides of mood change. But it shouldn't be a crime to be excited about a new title of game that improves upon the old game we have.

It was just a question, and in this case, with no alterior motive other than he's excited about the new title and was wondering if there was any news on said title. Try not to read more into it than it was.

Did you expect anything other than a mixed response?

It's a community forum brother... It's a simple fact people are going respond the way they feel like it. Some will read into it and others will see it for what it's worth.

If you post here expect a mish mash of answers some will be pleasant and others won't.

No offense intended CaptJodan. I was reacting more to some of the other responses rather than your original question.

This game does have virtually unlimited possibilities, and I'm NOT bored with it...

But.

There's two major issues with FB.

The first is the lack of TrackIR's 6dof support. Understandable, as the technology didn't exist when the FB engine was designed, but this, as far as I'm concerned is the last major hurdle for flight sims. Being able to peer over that bar in the FW cockpit alone...

The other, for me, is the sound. Realistic engine/gun sounds are a major part of immersion. If you've had that rush as an airshow warbird howls overhead... and compared it to the mosquito whine that is most engines in FB http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

Another reason that I'm getting excited about BoB is the possibility of authentic engine startup procedures, more realistic management etc.

On a more positive note, I've tried several other games that offer the above features (CFS3, Shockwave BoB), and I came back to FB within a couple of hours. Even for the offline, it's just more fun, exciting and satisfying. Despite the lack of flyable R-10 http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

Hope they take their time with this, im on the team with Tag, about looking forward to proper engine startups and engine managment, something that this game lacks.

Soo more immersion is great http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

I hear soo many mixed answers on the release date, someone said that amazon believes it will be coming out early 2006?!?! i guess amazon gets their news from PBS.

Anyway i wont be upgrading my pc till BOB comes out, becouse honestly i dont play anything else anymore. Even dough i got gamer blood pumping tru my veins. played SOF2, Battlfield 1942, and bf2, CS, DOD, COD, WW2onine, Joint ops, Blackhawk down, etc.. not to mention console games.

But i hope that when this puppy comes out(BOB) it will exceed my expectations aswell as those of many of us.
