Does anyone have any info on "WWII Tank Commander?" I have been looking for a good tank sim lately but have come up empty handed. Also, I have been anticipating Ubisoft's "Brothers in Arms"
An IL-2 can only go so far you know...to bad nobody had moded it out with tank tracks.

Maybe you guys should take it out of the ready room. General Discussion is a better place for OT's

EVer heard of t-72 Balkans in fire or Wartime Command?

T72 has a demo out but as it is in Russian you need to download the menu and key translations

wartime command - not sure if this is coming out now but I was looking forward to it

hmm.. ww2 tank commander seems like a game made for US market... you drive a Sherman, and kill thousands of german tanks http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

I thought that Wartime Command was WWII RTS that was working few years back. I Only remember a quick blurb on it at IL2center.com about three years ago. I could be mistaken.

Panzer Elite SE was also out there too. I have the demo and it's fun. But there just seems to be so much awesome game development within the last year or two I would figure somebody would come out with a squad-based WWII armor sim that had some weight to it.

Thanks for the links.

yup, until that time i would say you should get copy of Combat Mission-series.. most excelent, when it comes to armor modelling... probably the most complex modelling when it comes to armor penetration http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Combat mission Barbarossa to Berlin, and Afrika Korps.. excelent games.. They are turnbased, but you will get over that once you notice how great games they are..

If it's an accurate, highly detailed, easily expandable and modifiable turn-based wargame (scale: 1 vehicle or gun= 1 vehicle or gun...squads, weapon teams also 1:1), deformable terrain, accurate national characteristics, etc., then only Steel Panthers:World at War will do.

Matrix Games has it..download it for free and enjoy. Millions of people play it all over the world. I have played SP since it first came out and with people from all over the world. Still do.

Affirmative. Steel Panthers: WaW is a very good game.

I can recommend to use the game "Operation Flashpoint" as platform for tank-sim games. There are plenty of mods out there for you to play any decade where tanks are or has been involved.
Everything from the landscape scenarious from desert to winter, to the abillity to crawl out of the tank and make reconnaissance are perfect in this fine game.

OFP was great, absolutely great game.. (the reason i stopped playing arcade fps shooters http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif ) , but unfortunalety it's not as complex regarding armor modelling as i have been hoped for.. though it is still good game, even as tank simulation... Hopefully OFP-2 can improve in this area http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I have to agree http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
With some of the new addons OFP is the finest WWII tank sim you can get these days.

I can't wait for the Liberation 1941-1945 Mod: http://ofp.gamezone.cz/_hosted/lib4145/
