Now before a huge debate ensues,I am fully aware there are multiple variants some with poor performance..Now to buisness I pulled this info from the avaiton fact file Aircraft of world war2.I truly enjoy flying the HE111,but think it is a bit like flying a bathtub lately ,slow to climb slow top speeds, hard to take off with full load of fuel and bombs..So I got currious as to why the germans would use it and did some research theses figures came directly out of book mentioned HE-111-16 top speed 435 km/h light load at 6000 meters service ceiling 8500 meters for operations on rough fields or heavy loads (He) used disposable rockets during takeoff. Now I am curriuos why HE has such poor performance in game are these figures wrong?? (not that it makes a difference I will still fly it) seems like in early versions plane was better did patch ruin this plane my maximum level speed is only around 320km/h with 25-5-% fuel and no bombs time to climb measures in hrs. not minutes am I doing something wrong Please help me any info would be great!!!

external bombs cause lots of drag, so cant fly so fast, u maybe getting mixed up with ias/tas,

also performance of bombers was poor for the most part, only mossie, pe2, ju88S (maybe other varients) and t2-vs? the twin engined russian bomber ingame as ai had decent performance to my knowledge, there was probably others...

if u takin 2x 2000kg bombs then the performance is rather dire, but that is a very heavy load for the two engines..

8000lbs worth of bombs, b17-24 would carry less than that on most sorties (4000-6000lbs) mossie would take 4000lb plus droptanks (remmber mossie doesnt have lots of guns to carry and crew..)

I fly bombers occasionally, and i just made a scenario for HE-111 h6 torpedo bombers.

I get around 330-340 km/h (210 mph) top speed with two torpedoes and full fuel at 1000 m. (3300ft.) altitude. So I think the 435 km/h shouldn't be the problem with 25% fuel and empty load out.

I'd suggest some checks (Without knowing your skills, sorry if these are too elementary)

* Do you have both engines selected and running at 100-110% power?
* have you trimmed your plane to slow climb or level flight?
* Have you checked possible fuel mixture settings and supercharger setting for the given altitude?
* Is the plane undamaged?
* Is the weather perfect?

If all these are ok, I don't really know what the problem might be.

Switch to no cockpit view and read the gauge for true air speed.

I originaly posted this from petrosky's comp I wrote it though. I can see where I may be mixed up on IAS TAS But I pretty much only fly bombers I do trim plane and use rich lean mix prop pitch full power etc. have even used fly level at low alts in slight dive (trin slightly down) dont seem to get the performance I used to get. No biggy though Still there is the issue of altitude I have before the patch carried 2 2000 sc bombs to an alt of 6800 meters online and dropped to sink enemy carrier. took aproximatley 2 hrs.was great fun
Now it sems to really labor to get to 4000 meters. Still this is more of a confirmation than a complaint. I like the bomber very much find it to be more acurate than b-25. Online bombing is very rewarding So although I hope for more development in the future I just want to get maximum performance now. I would like to reach these high alts to evade enemy fighters, flak etc.

I just performed some tests in game and these are my results
Map okinawa weather clear flew each test twice until engine quit from over heat. should be noted I used quik mission to get to my target alts I first selected 1000 meters then dove to 610 then selected 7500meters and dove to 7370 and 6020. I used no cockpit view as well as in cockpit and speed bar measuremnts thes results are the fastest speeds achieved from any method.

test 1
supercharger stage 1
alt 610 meters
fuel mix 120%
prop pitch 100%
fuel at test start 25%
loadout empty
radiatior closed
fly level engaged trimed to maintain alt.
speed 348 km/h

test 2
supercharger stage 2
alt 7370 meters
fuel mix 60% once 40%
prop pitch 100%
fuel at test start 25%
loadout empty
radiatior closed
fly level engaged trimed to maintain alt.
speed 364 km/h

test 3
supercharger stage 2
alt 6020 meters
fuel mix 60%
prop pitch 100%
fuel at test start 25%
loadout empty
radiatior closed
fly level engaged trimed to maintain alt.
speed 378 km/h

test 4
supercharger stage 2
alt 6020 meters
fuel mix 60%
prop pitch 75%
fuel at test start 25%
loadout empty
radiatior closed
fly level engaged trimed to maintain alt.
speed 343 km/h

ill go try out a sea level run then bed, very tired..

i think they increased performance drop from loadouts on all planes in last patch..

ok, he111 h6, full power (110%,100%pp,120%mix,rad closed) emputy loadout, 25 fuel
355kph~ at sea level

h2, as above but took bombs and dropped them, went past 400kph, nailed throttle (above settings), speed slowly ebbed away to 363kph

i used level stab, and also trim but trim didnt seem tobe of any advantage tbh, perhaps a tiny bit..

ive noticed il2 and bue seems slower aswell, wonder if theyve slowed down some of the bomber aircraft http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

60~kph is a big chunk of speed..

I have not tested any other bombers never used them much so couldnt say if the are slower or not. 60 kph is a lot of speed to lose maybee some explanation though. great chart thanks if you find any new info on matter I would love to hear about it..

ill look thru what i got, i do feel when im bombed up im slower, i remmber with il2s i could easily pass 400kph, now i cant http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

stranger still

he111, h6, 100% fuel and two 2000kg bombs

could reach 340ishkph, thats only 10ish less than the lightest loadout.

10kph only difference :\

sumin is up, really wrong :\/
