Daddy Jambo said "Jump in! we're off on an adventure, We're going to... Scapa Flow!

"Woohoo!" we all cried, wondering how long it would take to get there - knowing his driving.

"Aww hang on, Scapa is MILES away! you have to go right round the tip of Northern Scotland, turn West, then turn South just to get to the entrance to it" Blimey this'll take ages we all thought.

"Not so! Daddy Jambo now has the Grey Wolves Mod! I now know a shortcut"

"Whateva" we replied, shaking our heads, wishing we had bought more books to read on the journey.

"Breathe in kids! eh? bit narrow here!

We all sucked in our breaths and hunched up our shoulders to appease Daddy Jambo. He was loving it.

"Heads up! Looks like the locals have left some of their old ships here. Look at that rust - disgraceful!"

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v642/antsmith/SH3Img5-8-2006_10.jpg

"Look Kids! they even lay on a sight seeing plane for visitors! wow!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v642/antsmith/SH3Img5-8-2006_10-2.jpg

No. Two in fact!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v642/antsmith/SH3Img5-8-2006_10-1.jpg

"Those old ships, they are there from the last war apparently - they'll have to get them shifted - right in our way! tsk! ssshh! quiet in the back now, Daddy Jambo has to concentrate here for a minute

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v642/antsmith/SH3Img5-8-2006_10-6.jpg

Oh Hello! look some locals! they're going a bit fast but I guess they know the waterways better than us. Wave Hi, kids!"

Well. That little journey didn't take nearly as long as we'd all thought it would, thanks to Grey Wolves!

Oh, I almost forgot, by the time we left, some of the bigger ships were having Barbeques and fireworks on them - how splendid! You simply must get to Scapa with Grey Wolves. In the future, I'll never sail without Grey Wolves again. How lovely!

In no way meant to be derisory towards the fantastic mod that is GW, anything but! Those Kaleuns who don't have it - get it. Brilliant.

At risk of starting another GW install problem thread, why the sad face Wilhelm? Can't you get it to go? You're to talking to the Father of all install problems here, and I eventually cracked it.

Or was it my British Humour? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

I have to say that I wouldn't feel very confident about sailing into Scapa Flow in a U-boat if my kaleun was called 'Daddy Jambo'!! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

So are you pleased with GW now you have it up and running?

I can feel a multiple install coming on...

and i can't even get my 'puter ( or more accurately, my modem to port forward) to host a game online. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

Oh my aching head http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

@ Wilhelm: Oh yes of course, I was forgetting that you play online. Someone asked recetnly here if you could do a dual Sh3 install for similar purposes, not sure what the outcome of it was tho' - perhaps something you could consider.

@VK: Yes very pleaseds indeed, the slow frame rate I had in persicope and free view I sorted by reducing the particle density. The damage model makes you think that bit much harder too - not a bad thing. No 200k patrols from me for a while methinks!

Just got to do BR's new ships mod installed and then I really will never get any sleep!

I know what you mean RJ, I struggle to get more than 50K with my type VII and not much more with a Type IX - and thats being picky with my targets too!

It's like playing a new game altogether - no easy kills with this mod, but I love the graphics and sounds too much to go back to IUB http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

You're not wrong there Goose. I can still get a few C2's to crack in half with one shot, but otherwise it's a whole new ballgame.

Nice Attack. Been to Scapa with stock, going soon (how about now?) with GW. Wish me luck !

Do you (or anyone else) have any tips on mines and subnets, best approach. Passing Scapa recently I noted only 1 destroyer patrol on the West side. Could that be the best way in ?

Leaving Scapa now, killed George, Fiji and medium tanker, troop ship, saving rest of fish for mission patrol, 9 left.
