Lets not start a console vs PC war...

Just do what I did for AC2, play the PC version using a Xbox pad = best of both worlds - http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Right on. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
The best possible way to play the game is with a console controller on the PC. Maximum graphics & image quality while using the controller the game was designed for.

Glad we finally have a concrete release date. Thanks for the update Shade.

Will the PC version includes the Mac version as well?

I'm asking because packaging PC games with Mac versions is starting to increase. First was Starcraft 2, the other is Bioware upcoming RPG Dragon Age 2.

I'd really love to use the 360 controller for AC:B. The really crap port on the controller settings in ACII put me off so, I used K+M.

Although, if they have the proper amount of key bindings for K+M it'll be hard to decide...

Looking forward to seeing how optimized it really is.

Yeah, that's the big question now. I guess we got some info from the German article, but given it was from December the content may have changed since the website got the opportunity to preview the game.

And it'll be interesting to see if the upcoming good news for PC is related to optimisation or PC-specific features. At this point I'm guessing that it will be that the rumoured singleplayer DLC will be bundled with the PC version.

All websites still have this date, but I think they need time to change it. Or they are waiting for Ubi to confirm the new date. They probably need an official letter in order to change the dates on their sites.

Yep, the triggers were the issue. And I shouldn't(and don't want to) have to install 3rd party drivers to fix a simple, patchable problem.

I use a wireless controller, does it make a difference with a wired one?.

Ubisoft, I think did quite well and are doing well to patch problems on the consoles. I hope they show the same dedication to the PC version.

Yeah I don't like having to install 3rd party drivers to fix the issue, but at least it's available (and complicated also if you're using Vista or Win 7). I don't think the fix works for wireless remotes anyway so no worries for you. I use a wired USB XBOX 360 controller.

If you used a wired pad the game plays perfectly - my triggers etc all work? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I think it's due to drivers or config issues for the 'crossfire' wireless dongle which connects to the PC, and certain OS's such as windows 7 since some other games have the issue..

I bought my Wired Xbox pad for £7.99 - was supposed to be second hand, but was mint condition.

And it's just plug and play on Windows 7 [I don't think I needed a driver?]

Anywhoo back to the topic at hand - if you want to chat further about pads, can I suggest a new thread?

Wait... what?!?.

So I'm paying an extra £30 for the Codex Edish, and that extra money is getting me what, a box?.

Seriously, £30 for a box... don't I feel like a fool. lol

I think this is the last CE I'll buy from Ubisoft, seeing as they managed to devalue the BE I bought for ACII after release, and devalue the Codex Edish for AC:B before release... is that even legal?.

Probably, which is sad...

Ubisofts definition of the words exclusive and value are really messed up.

I know exactly how you feel Robson. I pre-ordered the Codex Edition from EBGames Australia for ~AUS$140, now the Digital Deluxe Edition is available for ~AUS$50; a difference of $90; and the deposit I had to pay to pre-order the CE was the same as what the DDE costs ($50)!

Now I’m looking for the Codex Edition on the Australian game retail sites and can only find the Auditor Edition, so the CE mightn’t even be available anymore.

I don't know anything specific. But I've seen rumours here and other places that there will be one last (paid DLC) for singleplayer in the near future. I was speculating that we might receive this (if it's concrete) bundled with the PC version of the game like we received Battle of Forli and Bonfire of the Vanities with AC2.

I guess we could ask Shade or Gabe about it, but given the success we had at getting any early word about a simple release date ... probably we'll get a "can't say anything" or "soon" reply.

Found something pretty interesting. Most UK sites still have end of March release date, but I'm not worried about that, because as Shade said release dates may differ from region to region, and 1 more week is not a big difference. But I also found this:

http://www.zavvi.com/games/pla...erhood/10173900.html (http://www.zavvi.com/games/platforms/pc/assassin-s-creed-brotherhood/10173900.html)

I mean, WHAT??! June?! Why? I don't really understand it. But anyways, as long as other sites have them for the end of March it's not a problem for me. But let's hope they will not change it to June.

wow guys I see your situation is pretty screwed up.
I pre-ordered my codex edition from my polish online game shop (which rules, no idea how they always have special editions) and it cost me only around 55$ without delivery, pretty good price considering what I saw in most online shops for UK or US. (50-60$ for standard edition)
I just checked in the same shop that their planned shipping is 16.03 so on 17th afternoon i will have the game probably http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif no problems here http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Now that the release date has been annouced I am sort of shocked by how suprised I/everyone was that it took so long. Looking at AC2 releasing March 9th last year it is almost the exact same delay.

BTW Ubi, please try to minimize delays or even release at same time.

Exactly, it's not clear if ACB is going to have that DRM as Steam would be the first one to mention it. I guess we have to wait for Ubisoft's comment. I don't know why these guys are so slow when it comes to answering questions of PC gamers...

Anyone else enjoy the irony that we're back to "very soon" when Gabe refers to the release of further information on the PC version, and specifically the inclusion of the singleplayer DLC?

Yeah, I'm joking around this time ... a bit. We'll likely know something for certain within the next few days, given that there's 27 days until release. But note that the console players have found out the details of their DLC and we still haven't heard anything except the PC release date.

I think that if new DLC is not included in pc version or it would be paid for, such situation will be fail from Ubisoft. It should be our compensation for months of waiting.
The release date of pc ACB and this DLC is the same (well I heard dates like 8th of march 0.o ) so i hope it will be already inside.

Dear Ubisoft this is how sellers treat your gamers:

For your records, your original query was:

Now i am totally confused friend of mine have also preordered Assassins Creed Brotherhood for PC from you and hi got answer that you will send him a game on June 3th, and you told me that you will send it on March 25th. So what is true? When you will send game if i have preorder it? I don't want to get game two weeks after release date or even more. I am willing to wait one week after release date + time to item arrive to my country that should not take more than one week.

One of our customer services advisors has reviewed your query and we are able to confirm the following:

Hi,

Thank you for your message.

The items will be dispatched for the release date, which may change at any time. The most recent information we have is that the release date is 03/06/2011, but this is subject to change.

If you have any further questions please feel free to contact me.

Regards,

Leigh

I have made the UK sales team aware of the release date error.

In the mean time, I suggest you either order from another retailer, or wait for their site to update.

Ubisoft have little direct input over retailers customer services - however we can try to correct misinformation.

Agreed, if i end up getting the regular standared edition, and not the CE that was ordered, i will not be pleased (and neither will my brother, since he ordered it for me.)

In anycase, there is also the Steam version, which is a digital copy of the codex edition, all the extra stuff (codex, cards and map) will most likely .pdfs and jpegs respectively.

I always thought Halo was abandoned for PC after the Halo 2 port was a sales disaster. Which wasn't unexpected, given it released 3 years after its console counterpart, and its graphics were up against titles like Crysis.

As for saying that we should be glad to receive ACB at all ... I don't buy it. That excuse could be used as justification for anything conceivably. Game doesn't support a mouse and keyboard? Doesn't matter, be glad we got it at all. It's an extreme example, but the point holds. Ultimately, forums like this are one of the few conduits through which we can make our dissatisfaction known. And if we simply keep silent as the PC version receives second rate treatment, Ubisoft will think that silence equals assent. Its a dangerous race to the bottom if at least a few PC gamers don't keep Ubisoft aware of our disappointment.

The argument works when the pros outweigh the cons. For example, AC2's drm. Yea it sucked but considering how great of a game AC2 was (in my opinion) the DRM was nothing to get upset about.

Personally, I'd agree with you. I just finished AC2 again, and its a fantastic game. And I had no trouble with the DRM when the game was released.

But for people without a constant internet connection, the game was unplayable. For them, it was a big deal, and the cons far outweighed the pros.

This has got to be a joke! I waited several months under the knowledge that AC: Brotherhood would come out for the PC on 2/22/2011 and when I call my local Gamestop they "inform" me that the due date for release is now 3/22/2011 this is the worst thing in the world, I just hope that the PC remake of this game doesn't turn into the next "Duke Nuke'em" and this is just a HUGE letdown on the PC version of the game.

Maybe we'll get lucky and it won't have any DRM. I'm just trying to think about how nice it'll be to play it with full graphics options enabled on high with antialiasing & anisotropic filtering enabled. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
