Hi,

I have got a headache reading so many posts about perfect water in PF. Summarizing, what are the recommended rig to play PF smoothly with Water=3 and Perfect landscape?

CPU?, RAM?, Video Card (Nvidia for water=3 but which?)

Thanks

Recommended power for running Water=3 smoothly is likely to be:

- AMD Athlon 64 3800+
- 1GB or 2GB of PC3200 RAM
- nVidia GeForce 6800 card (the GT or the Ultra)
- Audigy soundcard (better soundcards = better performance)

That doesnt exist at the moment. Maybe when 6800 ultra comes in sli version 2x. But even that wont be enough for fluid play.

From what I've seen, I agree with the general comments above. Only absolute top-end current technology can run water = 3 with reasonable frame rates, and even then only by knocking the resolution down to what many would regards as unacceptably low levels (e.g., 1024 x 768).

Give it a year.
