Is this this the only "aerial" battle it performed.
In 1944 four Avia B.135s attacked a formation
of 90 Liberators that were going to bomb Sofia.
does anyone have any more info on this fight,

Did they encounter any escort fighters on the occation

Did they score any kills

What was their main use

the 4 Avia b135 were piloted by instructors of the fighter school, led by Krustio Atanasov, later to become commander of the 3/6 Orliak of the His Majesty`s Bulgarian Air Force. the Avias(named "Liastovitza-Swallow in bulgarian) were used as training fighters. Armed with 4? machine-guns each they attacked the group of American 4-engined bombers and shot down one of them. If you have some questions about the Bulgarian Airforce, I will be pleased to answer, to the best of my knowledge. And yes, as far as I know(AFAIK), the 4 pilots encountered no American fighters.

"All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king."
