Greetings all.

Making one last attempt to salvage PF/FB before shelving.

I've scoured the forums and read the threads on how to stop gunsight bounce with little luck. I know how to trim, I've tried many xyz settings, etc... I'm sure this is an ancient topic discussed many times but I haven't seen a solution, really. So, hoping there is a magic bullet or something close to it that one of you knows about before I shelf the whole works and wait for something better.

Using a MS FFB2 joystick in very good condition. All drivers etc updated. The game runs fine otherwise and I love it. The bouncing gunsight is ruining the whole experience. I've been flight simming for about 3 years.

I did the search and read the threads on this already so please don't point me to faqs or other threads on the topic. If there isn't anything that can be done that someone knows of please say so. I'd like to make this thing work but time is valuable.

Well under many conditions youre not going to get a rock steady gunsight view anyway.Have you tried setting up some friendly bombers and attacking those?Still get the vibration?I find the (ironically best loved by the non simming public)american planes suffer most from sight rock.Have you tried the other nations planes?Generally the like of the Hurricane,Zero,Ki43,Spit,La 7 are the more stable while the entire US Navy(!) 'fleet' and P51 and Fw 190 are less stable. No offence but if youre used to other games/sims this may lead you to believe that the gunsight view should be rock steady but that may not be the case if youre hauling a55 at 450mph in a spiralling descent chase!!!
On the other hand I DO know what you are refering too and its greatly affected by stick settings.I know you said you tried many but are you using NO deadzone and filtering as is best and a slow shallow start to your stick graph/curve?
This game is a continuous learning curve!

Did you ,ever try a non FFB stick?Might that be contributing to vibration/shakes ?

- Did you try toggling Shift+F1? Even in planes that have centered sights, sometimes toggling this changes the view slightly to represent using your eye.

- There is a switch in the difficulty options for enabling/disabling head shake. I'm sure you've tried that though.

What plane are you having problems with? All of them?<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Maybe this is a dumb reply, but do you use a sight-to-eye distance that is somewhat realistic? I mean if I try to hit something using the telescopic mode I can't hit very good at all. So I sit-back a little bit and use a gun-sight that is more comfortable. For example:

Oh ya; because it is very shakey in the up-close mode.

I use an MSFFB2 - I've tried several others and just can't do well with them - and don't have any problems. Of course, I've removed all the files from my ForceFeedback folder except Spring and Shake. I'm not really sure what your problem really is, whether it's "headshake" or actually a problem. Post a track?

The American planes are the worst of course, but it is present in all the planes I've flown.

The bounce is bad enough but you add in the kick you get from the American .50 and hitting anything even at close range is pure luck and just firing a continual stream of lead is the only way to hit anything.

It isn't a shake. Worse of course when using the most zoomed in gunsight.

Even when in a perfect 6 tracking shot at point blank range there is no guarantee of hitting anything. I'm sure real planes didn't present a rock solid firing solution, but they did provide SOME solution.

Haven't tried any other flight sticks. Maybe that would help.

I'll try some more input changes/filtering etc... and post a track if nothing is helping.

I appreciate the response. Quite frustrating to enjoy everything else about the sim but get hung up on one seemingly simple glitch.

Thanks again.
