Playing Lock On for a little while then coming back to IL2FB you realise how good we really have it here. The minor stutters in online play are nothing compared to CTD's and slow downs in Lock On.

I am pleased with Lock On for its attempt to please the jet simm community but until the patch is released to make it work as it is meant to then it will lose the flight sim war for me.

I think IL2FB is the best simm I have played and well Lock On so far the fourth but lets hope for better thing to come in BoB (2005?)and Lock On Patches (Erm soon?).

Merry Xmas.

playing fb then going to lomac is like switching from cable to 56k.

Lomac the only flight sim I have ever returned.

I should have returned cfs3 but still had fun in it for a couple months online bombs, rocket and chrome reflective textures were a stepup from cfs2 for me after playing for 3 yrs+

I couldnt agree more.

FB is just so smooth and well polished. I bought lockon three days ago and I am very disapointed. The heart of a great game is there, but the current bugs and pauses make it unplayable. I give them points for making a ambitious and complicated game, but it was not fit for release.

Hopefully a few patches later http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

The FB cd never leaves my drive now.

Even if Lock On had no bugs I still wouldn't buy it. I flew Mig Alley, which I liked, but it's the limit for me with a/c capability. I want to be a part of the machine and I want to engage the enemy, not missiles. If Lomac created a WWI sim even with similar bugs, I would buy it.

I agree, was about to post a new topic saying the same thing. IL2 (and FB) was the first sim I'd played since the days of Their Finest Hour! I've just recently got FS2004, CFS3 and Lockon - none of these come anywhere near FB in my opinion. FB seems to squeeze so much from a PC, you get top quality graphics - plus a smooth and engrossing game. For example it puts the laughable textures of the Microsoft games to shame - yet runs so much better than them. I do think LOMAC could turn into a good product, but not yet, not in its current state. Plus I can't seem to get into Jets, maybe I need to learn the 6 million key combinations first.....

Its easy for FB players to get sucked in to whining about some rather minor gripes on these forums - I guess we are striving for perfection. If want want a good reason to whine, fly CFS3.....

You're right. Retry CFS3, or even the great old prop sims like EAW and Janes WWII...then you know why FB hooks you. Don't like the jet sims much, but downloaded lomac demo. Looks beautiful, but not fast enough even on a fairly high end system to hold my interest.

Winning isn't everything;
It's the only thing!
