Cant find a server with a purpose, just a bunch of people shooting one another out of the sky. Most servers dont even differentiate between german and us etc just open season. I am not a fighter pilot, love blowing things up, gives me purpose, Might have to retire to the old foggies home.

What difficult settings are you flying with?

If you like full real, then try 101Mission-Server. Sometimes there are more bombers and fighterbombers in the air, than fighters.

And most of the time you will find some people who will fly with you...

Try the UKDedicated servers, objective based game play with lots of things on the ground. There are three servers with different difficulty settings.

It is true that the life of a ground pounder on df servers isn't much fun. Join a squadron which runs inter-squadron campaigns.

Dogfight servers (especially arcadey ones) are essentially selfish. It`s hard to find people who`re willing to escort and protect bombers.

When I went online, i used to volunteer to escort bombers, but even then they seem to want to go alone or just don`t read their chat bar.

You may be ok in CO OPs, but I say join a Squad, as they WILL cover you.

Try 'Wind of War' it always has bombing objectives for both sides.

You need to do two things:

1) Find servers that do have these values.

2) Get TeamSpeak. People are more willing to work as a team and tend to more often be team oriented when on TeamSpeak.

UK-Dedicated runs a variety of server based events where you sign up to a specific slot and carry out a specific mission. Everyone is logged in on TS, everyone is team oriented, and the whole thing goes down more like a real WWII battle than the average dogfight scenario. UK-Dedicated servers do "suffer" from less co-ordinated actions but its not unusual to find a group of people willing to team up. Yesterday on UK-1 (which is considered the most relaxed settings server) I was part of a 6 plane Ju-88 formation complete with four 109s as escort (flying wingman/leader pairs).

Its not going to be perfect but you should play on servers where that is happening. TeamSpeak voice communications is almost essential...not having a mic is no excuse as you can still login and listen and getting a mic is cheap. Mine is literally $2...sits on my desk...is cheap as anything but it works perfectly.

More shamless UK dedicated plug action.

We ain't perfect but I like to think we do a better job than most servers if cooperation, ground pounding and variety are your thing.

If you get on TS you will usually find willing participants in a raid, certain death mass stuka action is abit of a trade mark!

WarClouds!

Loads of stuff to blow up and you even get a lot more points for it, than just shooting down planes. Sophisticated online-stats keep track of your success.

Settings are high, but not full real.

Planeset is rather balanced, but rather limited to a couple of fighters and bombers. WesternFront around 44 to 45.

Teamspeak server allows coordination with other pilots.

There are a bunch of screenshots and threads about bombraids with 6+ bombers + cover on this forum. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Another vote for the UK Dedicated servers. I haven't had a bad experience on these servers yet.

Escorting bombers....it's what we do best! We have coops up every night.

I do a lot of hosting for my squad the Danger Dogz. I have several hundred coops and try to keep interest up by running new ones all the time. I also encourage the guys to try out different aircraft, different loadouts etc. I am constantly changing aircraft types and weather conditions via Quick Mission Tuner. And of course, we have the odd unlimited ammo feast. Anything to keep the interest up. By flying every mission, I can generally tell when the guys are getting bored.

Have you tried Zekes vs Wildcats. Spits vs 109s, or Forgotten Skies ran by the FA squad?
