Why she can't play a female character in the game, as in single player, story quest.

Reason why she won't be playing it anytime soon http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

What a shame, should really be a option to play a female, work around the story somehow http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Well maybe there should been a sister that could play the role, being Ezina while Ezio not excist. Just Ezina, so girls could play their character as a girl if they wish http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

It would just require too much i think, what about the love scenes, you would have to create a new character, unless she likes the girl on girl love which im all for

Maybe a mod could replace Ezio with The Thief or The Courtesan? That would be neat. Although it would be very weird from a storyline standpoint.

Has she not played 1 and 2 first? Just makes sense that it stays a male main character considering Desmond is well, male, and the story still revolves around everything he did in 1 and 2 lol

Desmond will be male until the end of the story
One of his assassins ancestors might even be female but nothing is guaranteed...

I'm just saying it's a mistake or lazyness they didn't put in a girl version of the main character from the beginning, many other games do so.

But I guess not everyone care about the girl players.

Assassins Creed is about Desmond Miles, Alta´r Ibn la-Ahad and Ezio Auditore da Firenze.
Not a mistake or laziness from Ubisoft. It's called having a story to work with and sticking to it.

I am sure your girlfriend will enjoy the Multiplayer aspect of Assassins Creed Brotherhood where you have the option of what gender you want.

Well multiplayer doesn't work does it.. You get somehow sick of trying after of total 10 hours of trying and 20 minutes of gameplay.

I kinda wasted alot of my life looking at a screen going from 1 player to 5 down to 4 down to 1 and this for hours.

Yes, I turned off firewall, open ports, everything. So this is not on me!

(By the time this get fixed, I'm playing something else.. anyways, you can't even type in the game or adjust the microphone? How can you communicate? Just very very poor for PC gamers to experience this kinda setting, no way for communication in-game)

Wow. And just when I though people can't get any dumber. It's neither a mistake or laziness. Assassin's Creed story revolves around specific characters. Those characters are males. If they were ever meant to be females they would have been. Games that allow you to play as either male of female are almost always RPG games and character in RPG games aren't developed as characters in character driven games like Assassin's Creed. There is no way to make the story work with a female character. It would be a completely different game. That would be as ******ed as making "Die Hard" with a female McClane just for female audience. Do you seriously not get how stupid is the idea of a female protagonist in Assassin's Creed?

Wow. Calling me dumb because I have a personal opinion, great. Let's leave it at that, I don't care.

Multiplayer works fine here but that's just my ISP whats been created by hackers in the old days. No restrictions on their end as expected.

If you wasted a lot of your life looking at the Multiplayer screen than I have more worries about your life expectancy.
Ubisoft is aware of the problem. Must be one hell of a Monday there. (Take care guys!)

Maybe one day in a patch released from Ubisoft we will get a chatbox, who knows.

Well your opinion is wrong. You don't seem to grasp the concept of a character driven story, yet you dare to say Ubisoft is lazy or that they made a mistake.

Geez, the game JUST came out for the PC, do you really expect it to be 100% bug free? Even games such as Call of Duty have a few bugs here and there, but they've developed that game for multi-player since well...forever. This is completely new for Assassin's Creed, tired of seeing people complain about the multi-player so early in release.

Thats pretty sexist of her to not play a game just because the main character is a male.

So the game writers make a choice to make the main character a male as that is the story they wish to tell and that is unacceptable to your girlfriend? BFD.

What the...? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif
I can understand someone hoping for a female ancestor in the next game, but wanting to have a female protagonist in Brotherhood?? In case you didn't still realize, this is the continuation of AC2. How would they ever put a female main character into the game without having the story go out of whack?
And I personally don't think they could've given a choice from AC2 as well. It just wouldn't work with the concept of ancestor memories.

There's already an opening for a female main character or different storyline, if you guys payed any attention, Ezio has a younger sister who gets sworn into the Creed http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

As a girl gamer I could care less that in the single player version there is no female option. This is about Ezio/Desmond, period, end of story. There is a female character in the multiplayer and if she or you played the first 2 you would know there is no switching characters based on gender. I don't get the need to play girl characters because you're female, play it for what it is and enjoy an awesome game. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

family ties, blood bonds, clearly, if ezio is his anscestor, then he has a clear link with claudia aswel http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

if I start having children, and they have children and they have children, etc. etc. i'll be their anscestor, but they will still have a blood bond with my brothers, since we came from the same parents (and therefore have the same DNA mix) http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif or didn't i pay enough attention when i was taught genetics in school? :P I'll ask my brother some time (he's a well respected doctor http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif)

First of all, if they was to make this game for both girl and boy.

You have to give option to be a girl when you play the game so Desmond won't be Desmond. That will be a girl insted with a different name.

And again, Enzio or whatever would be a girl with a different name.

Simple as that.

No personal offense meant, but this alone shows that you don't really know Assassin's Creed, and aren't a fan of it.
Anyway, if you were to be able to select between Desmond and someone else, it would be a TOTALLY different story. I can tell you, Desmond's gender matters a lot.

There's a difference between "a few bugs here and there" and the entire multiplayer mode not functioning at all for many people. I can understand the complaints may be tiring, but this is honestly a big issue.

You are not considering that AC has a particural historical setting. In the italian renaissance would be very unrealistic that a young noble girl could be as trained as the 17 years old Ezio. It could have been realistic only by fully changing the story of the character (you may have noticed that in AC *ALL* the female assassins are prostitutes - or work in that business). You cannot just switch the sex of a young nobleman who lived a light-hearted childhood (jumping here and there in the city, being involved in fights, having romantic affairs) without compromising the credibility of the story, expecially in that historical period.
