Hello there.

As I dont have too many books or havent founded quick answers in net I thought to ask this in here.

Does anybody have flying times with 100% fuel for most commonly used planes in FB at the moment?

My intrest mostly lie in these plane series:

Bf109 serie
Fw190 serie
La5 serie
Yak serie
Lagg serie
Air cobra serie

And ofcourse this is since it seems that Axis planes run out of fuel always before their Allied counterpars leading to nasty suprise while landing.

Thanks

Hmm I guess it alll depends on HOW you fly it, Throttle percentage, mix, altitude etc etc. I think these things can make a HUGE difference in terms of "time in air".

For example the fuel comsumption in a J8A with "fuel economy" at 5000 m and 2000 RPM is approx 70 lit/hour. Fuel cosumption at 1000 m with NO "fuel economy" and 2400 RPM is approx 200 lit/hour

Last I checked the FW-190A5 gives you 55 minutes at 100% throttle, flying in a straight line.

Checking now. the 109G2 is about 45 minutes at full power. It would probably change with each variant.

A quick way to test this is to fly the plane with a small amount of fuel, say 5%, and time how long it takes to run out. Then mutiply that time by 20 to get the full endurance.

Another thing, is that the FB fuel consumption seldom matches that in real life. Historical numbers are of little use.

I can tell you approx. time for Bf109's is around 55mins of safe flight time. (that includes 5-10 mins of combat where you push A/C to maximum). Max flight time is somewhat over 1 hour (My flight time on Friedrich once was 1:09h).(That is on Friedrichs, but I figure that includes several Me109 types since they have similar range as stated in IL-2 A/C description).

For early Fw190's it is almost double as Bf109's.

Thanks for the tips.

It would be nice to get some historical figures so we could compare Axis and Allies planes atleast abit.

I have hard time believing that example LA5 serie consumes much less fuel than example bf109 or FW190. Then again if their fuel tank is bigger, then its another matter http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I am pretty sure that this game does not account for economy flying. It is set on a timer only.

I have been sitting on a runway for 30 minutes with the engine off and ran out of fuel!

On public servers my BF-109 normally has fuel enough to last for 35-50 minutes.
