Hi all,

This is a clip from the BBC Mini-Series aired in 1988.

Based on the novel 'Piece of Cake'.

Ok, the aircraft are not 100% historical but it's worth a view anyway IMO.

Forgetting the a/c difference, they really changed the ending from the Book.

Ah well, artistic license I suppose.

I hope SoW:BoB missions start with us sitting in a deck chair smoking a pipe. You will have to map a key to 'stop reading', 'put down pipe' , and 'run to your aircraft'. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
Of course there will be a trusty dog at your side.

I've owned this series on DVD for about a year and a half. Bought it along with "Danger UXB" which I also thoroughly enjoyed. One thing about A.P.o.C. that I wish they'd have focused more on was the evacuation and Dunkirk.

A very fine production which raised hell on earth with the B of B vets who thought it was an appalling travesty and rife with blatant lies. The author of the novel, Robinson, was in the RAF right after the war, and claimed all his incidents were based on squadron stories passed along to him. The novel was based on Richey's memoir, FIGHTER PILOT, about a Hurricane squadron in France in 1940. Vast umbrage was taken to Moggy ditching an airplane over a residential area among other things. The TV series was of the same period as "The Last Place on Earth" series which ran on British TV, and "deconstructed" the reputation of Scott of the Antarctic. The British have been busy reassessing their national mythology.

And for end mission we should assign a key to, 'home for tea and medals'.

A couple of years back I could only remind the fragment of the "Spit under the bridge contest" part and dropped the question here on the board. You guys helped me out within 10 minutes with the right info.
Since then I own the serie and have watched it a couple of times.
Thanks again. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

I also have the series on DVD. The picture quality is not good though and maybe as a reult of a poor transfer from analogue.

Here's another clip I found. Shows what can happen if a Spitfire pilot traps his fingers http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

I can see it now..."BoB SoW" will have mini games (like chess or solitaire) so the on-line player's can kill time between sorties...
