I have been requested to produce a seafire skin in metal, namely NN300... This Aircraft will be the third contemporary skin I have done from this squadron, the other 2 being J and X both camoflagued version.....

Metal is not my forte Im afraid and this is early days in the skins life, I hope to improve the metal it as well as the markings, which are initialy there to guide me..... I thought i'd post these as we seem to have a lack on skin stuff these days http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Comments welcome, but remember it is an early view......... new pics at the bottom of this post http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Nice TT!!!!!

Any word on IL2skins? I am assuming when v2 is online we will see this there, along with the rest of your work.

Thank You, Sir http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Sweet skins as always. I can't wait for Il2skins to come back. So many people are making such nice stuff and there's no way to get most of it.

For not being good at them, it sure looks good to me. Maybe I dont' have an eye for these things, but I can't see anything wrong with it at all, early or not.

Besides, it's way better than I could ever hope of doing.

Thanks for posting it.

Spitfire is a metal aircraft. The Hurricane was made of wood? At least I think the Hurri is wood

Thank you guys http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif the Spitfire was metal bar the rounded wingtips whiche were wooden structure but metal skinned, the Hurrican was a tubular metal square oblong contruction with the aircraft shape made up out of wood and attached to it. the "doghouse" which is the cockpit area was all wooden, this was all then covered in fabric, that could often be silver doped before camo was applied..........

Seanorris's new skins site where i will post this when it is finished is at the moment under construction.

Or something like that and signed Oleg. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Where can I get them? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Very good work! I'm a sucker for metallic Spitfires!

To the one that wonders if Hurricane is made of wood - No. Sides of the cockpit were made of plywood and early versions had plywood covered wings. Rest of the aircraft was covered by metal and fabric.

EDIT

I see this was already answered! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

Thank you for even more encouraging comments : they all make it worthwhile... To be totally honest, this is my first ever totally new metal skin, so I am treading new ground, previous ones were combinations of mine and other peoples. What I am trying to achieve is a natural weathered metal skin look that Aircraft of this period had, not a highly polished mirror finish you see at airshows.

I have added a couple of updated pictures below the repost of the original one I had posted at the top..
The lower picture is the latest version, although I have the yet to replace all the roundels, the metal is just about done... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Updates, the metal work is a lot cleaner now http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
