Bavaria is one of the oldest European states.
It dates back to about 500 A.D., when the Roman Empire was overcome by the onslaught of Germanic tribes. According to a widespread theory, the Bavarian tribe had descended from the Romans who remained in the country, the original Celtic population and the Germanic invaders.

If 3DGamers are hosting it, they will burn and post a CD for a small fee. There's another popular mirror that also offers this service.

Let's See

In the US in New York it's;

1:21pm 8/11/03

Now this new standard on Time "European time" Id guess is close to the same time as Lord of the rings took place.

Similar though if you advance around the world tommorow aka the 12th if your in the U.S. is already there in Sydney or Wellington who has the latest time of "6:21am" So Id say between 5pm New York Time aka EST and 12:00am EST we should see the patch http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif, if they dont find anymore hidden Gremlins http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Brothers and sisters, he is right!!!!! We must repent and accept that a game with great potential like IL-2 Forgotten Patches will never become a mainstream game!! Repent all ye sinners!!!!!! For judgement time (8/12/2003 sometime in the afternoon, european time) is near!!!!!! Let us pray....

God, grant me the serenity to accept the patch I cannot change.

The courage to update the computer I can.

And the wisdom to know the difference.

I'll try mirroring the patch. I'm assuming it'll be out by 12 o'clock GMT, so that'll be 7 o'clock EST. I'll start a new thread here with the link to my mirror(if I manage to upload it to my Univ's server successfuly). Look for the thread at 7 o'clock EST (finger's crossed here).

By the way Catrix, there were conflicting reports that some new, lfyable, aircraft might make it into the sim (specifically the P-51 Mustang). Can you confirm or deny these. Thanks in advance.

From what I made of it, the patch is just bug fixes and game engine tweaks, with the extra aircraft coming later, thats good enough for me /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif
But I may be wrong on that ....

OH NO! Here we go! it will take ages to the patch if you can get near the servers, it will be impossible to get a decent game on UBI or HL because some people will have the patch and others will not. Then all the whining will start - game was better before the patch, game is better with the patch, this plane is modelled wrong, that plane was modelled wrong before, and is still wrong, when is the next patch coming out! OMG it will go on forever. Please don't release any more patches, the game is very good anyway, top marks to Oleg and the team for their continued support, but please no more bloody patches (lol) let's just get on with playing the game, and having FUN!!!

P.S. whiners don't bother answering this post I don't expect a reply (I'm only joking DUH).

I don't think so. It's my firm belief that all will be happy and mirrorsites will see to it that all get the patch instantly.
And everybody will praise UBI and Oleg as the patch fixed everything.
And Isegrim and Milo will be best buddies.
And commie1 will never ever post IBTL again
And Dex will stop playing and posting pics from other games.
And all will agree that the FM and DM are accurate.

And yes, I believe in worldpeace too.

Vengeanze, you must understand that Skyhawk lives up to extremely exacting standards in his own life too. He has never been late. He does not accept lateness from family and friends (lost several of them on that account). He always gives the exact moment in minutes and seconds for reunions and walks out on people that do not adhere to his strict example. The rest of us really ought to live up to this guy, the world would be a better place.

Anyway, he won't be playing FB anymore after this timing disaster on the part of Ubi. They just lost another customer and we all lost a mate.

To Freycinet,

Mostly you are correct, a punctual man like me is a gift to this world with +30 year old men playing videogames.
The other part of you starting about my family i dont appriciate that much, cause you should realize with your IQ of 12 that when you say something, you should TRY to keep to your word, something the makers of this game did NOT do, that makes me angry.
Mismanagment and 4 months of time to make a bugfixing patch goes too far for me to accept, and if you dont share this view with me, TOO BAD, cause i want the makers to know about how they are behaving to us.

SkyHawk, please edit your post as I ain't the one who wrote that.

Many things about UBI Soft and 1:C could be better but to my knowledge they have done excellent considering and I'm more than saitsfied with their services.

I know for a fact that the community and UBI Softs customers are important to them and that they of course always try to improve their services.

Your post implyed that you were mad cause they couldn't be more specific about the time than saying it will be released this afternoon.
I just find that ridicolous.

Holland is a part of the netherlands. If you take Holland and put it together with the other parts you get: plural

For the Romans Wednesday was the day of the god Mercury (hence 'mercredi' in French and 'miercoles' in Spanish). In Germanic they named it after the god Odin or Woden or Wotan and Wednesday is literally 'Woden's day.

btw: Thursday is Thor's day, Saturday from roman god Saturn,

'North Holland' and 'South Holland' are just two of the twelve Provinces of The Netherlands. Calling The Netherlands 'Holland' is like calling the United Kingdom 'England'.

To pass the time while waiting for the patch, lets continue to eleborate on the Holland/Netherland/Dutch subject /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

with the power of google i found the following:

"That when the name Holland is used instead of The Netherlands, it actually refers to the two Western coastal provinces, North and South Holland, which have played an important role in the country's history

That centuries ago the North-West of the Netherlands was covered with trees... That's where the name Holland comes from; "holt-land", which means woodland.

That both its people and their language are known to English-speakers as Dutch, a name derived from the old language named Diets. The old low-frankish dialects were very familiar to the 'low-german' dialects that were spoken in the most parts of northern Europe. Together they were referred to as 'nederduits' (low-german) and the language in the area of the low countries was called 'diets', which explains the name 'Dutch' in English.

That the name 'Netherland' is derived from the Dutch word 'neder' meaning 'low', and the term Low Countries is used collectively for Belgium, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands, a reference to the low-lying nature of the land."
