The subject pretty much sums this thread up. I thought it would be useful to create a "dynamic" list of realism suggestions/fixes for SH3, independent of game version or available patches.

Feel free to add any ideas that you feel deserve to be officially implemented, but limit the scope of the discussion to changes or additions that relate directly to how realistic the game should be.

With any luck, we could have a dev or other VIP scan these ideas and make a note for future patches from UBISOFT.

1) Eliminate the auto-identification of ship class type present in the solution pad for the periscopes and the UZO.

2) Fix collision modelling so that a submarine will not cause larger surface combatants to sink, with relatively little damage to the U-boat.

3) Investigate historical inaccuracies reported with the flotillas, etc.

4) Make periscopes vulnerable to damage and flooding when used while submerged (i.e. pressure failure) and/or travelling at high speeds with the scope extended.

5) Adjust or add an option to control level of shipping traffic. Many players feel that ship traffic is simply too high in some areas and periods in the war.

6) Fix U-boat crush depths for accurate historical values.

7) Adjust watch crew detection ranges so that they spot ships that are clearly visible. This pic shows my crew oblivious to a ship so close to my starboard beam that I could spit on their deck. Although we were in a heavy fog, they should have been able to spot this much sooner.

Okay everyone, let your ideas loose!

Many of those have been done over at subsim modders forum. I know that 1. was a simple task,
I have seen 6. been done and I think 7. was played with.

They have also played with the campaighn data for more realism.
