I'm in Okinawa for about another month and a half. I have my digital camera and was just wondering if anyone is interested in any photos of the modern Okinawa? Tell me what you specifcially want, and I can try to get some.

Hi Crash, I would love to see any of the old WW2 remains...bunkers, airfields and buildings, vehicles, etc. Maybe some panoramic pics of the areas that saw the most combat. Your lucky to be there pal. Hope you enjoy the trip.

Nude Okinawan women? Otherwise the Okinawe Wan Kenobe character would be cool to see. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Hey, Crash - got the switches. Many thanks!

Are there any museums over there? Might be a Zero tucked away somewhere...

My dad was there in '45. He wrote a book called "With the Old Breed at Peleliu and Okinawa", so if you could get some photos of Kunishi Ridge and Halfmoon Hill tha would be cool. Also, what about Naha?

No aviation muesums. I've asked.

I'll ask about Kunishi Ridge and Halfmoon Hill and go find them for pics. At least that gives me a mission. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

And I think they would frown at a camera at the banana show. I saw it once 9 years ago. That was quite enough. lol

Comparison pics in "then"-and-"now" style would be fun. But for that, we would need a kind of photo album with wartime footage of characteriscic points, hills, buildings etc. Ah... never mind. Shoot whatever You can, Crash, we don't see pictures from these exotic and beautiful places here very often! Any pics will be appreciated http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif.

If anyone can provide me with some "Then" WWII photos, I'll do what I can to recreate the "Now" photos.

I'll be looking forward to your pics. I didn't bring home any pics from the year that I was stationed there.

I'm active duty U.S. Navy. I fly in a landbased recon aircraft. So I deploy to different places a few times a year for a few months.

I absolutely would love any pictures that you have of whisper alley and the banana lady. my son flew me out to okinawa and MADE me go to see the show and the alley and i would love to make him a slide show of his Japan tour. I took picture every day, botanical gardens...and lost all my pictures except for the beaches. I joined this sight so that I could ask this from you. I have been searching the net trying to replace pictures that were lost. Will you please send me some pictures of b.c. street...anything like that?

Anything you can get from Gate 2 Street would be great man. For the divers how about some pics from Maeda Point? Kadena Seawall, The Toilet bowl, etc. Some pics of K5R and some pics of the flight line from Habu Hill would be sweet. Please let me know if that old homeless guy just outside of G2 street is still there playing his guitar for beer. GI number 1!!! I sure miss that place.

I used to dive the Toilet Bowl, man those were great times. We used to take the new dive students down to about 120' there.

I was at Torii Station for 2 1/2 years, left in 1977. If I remember correctly there is a monument there on Buckner Bay that marks the Army landing site in WWII. Lots of stuff to be seen there.
