Hi all,

I currently live in Beijing and finding real software can be a nightmare. I can get a copy of XP Pro for less than 1 euro but I want the real thing. The fakes can't be updated.

I called one place here and got a price of 300 euros. Somehow that seem pretty pricy to me. I have a friend who's a pilot for an American airline and flies Beijing/Chicago. I was thinking it might be much cheaper if I got him to grap a copy from the states.

What store would have the cheapest price and how much should it cost? My buddy lives near Atlanta.

thanks,

Here in the UK a retail copy of XP Pro costs about ??250, so that price of 300 Euro's sounds about right. Yeah, if you can get one from the states you'll save quite a bit of money. Good luck.

you can get OEM versions, which as I understand it are the same except you don't have the box and what not, for much cheaper, ie $219 AUD.

The OEM version is one third that. Buy the cheapest CPU you can find and the OEM XP and save about ??150 http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Newegg.com was selling xp-pro for 130 bucks and it comes with an upgrade coupon for vista when it comes out.
