The way the pilot falls through the plane when he bails. Either program it so he doesnt hit the plane or make it so he hits the plane on occasion ....like when you bail with th wrong attitude (as in attitude of the plane in relation to the pilot for those who might say WTF.....) or you are just plane....(ok...plain..LOL pun intended) unlucky, and HE DIES..... but this falling through the wing stuff and through the fuselage is a drag. I still love the sim though!!! I wont let that stop me from having a good time but SHHHEEEESHHH!!!

Unfortunately, there are some in this forum that have seen the ravages of war mate. It's not a pretty site. Best leave this kinda crude humor at home /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

That was well said. I would like to see his teeth and lipps get smashed in, with Realisc blood spraying over his face when his head hits the tail of the plane.
This way crashing or bailing out would be more enjoyable, could evan take a shot of it and email it or post it.

lol,lol, and lol.

there are reports of tiger tanks being destroted after being hit from above by body parts

XyZspineZyX

After you seen a pile of bodies or a maimed human you will not want to see another. Crushed bones and blood spurting is for some other sim. The look of burned flesh and hair is guaranteed to ruturn your dinner. Lips burn first. People lose body parts and live to see the horror before shock can set in. The smell of blood is sickening.
I could live with a little blood splatter once in a while but no major gore. I was in Desert Storm, Thunder, ThunderII and Fox. So spare me the flashbacks.
As for the bailing out, I do think it looks kind of fake but I dont focus on it. Its not as important. I was a paratrooper. If you make the bailout realistic, you can cut your survibability down to one fourth of your bailouts.
I noticed a little bounce of the elevator once. I think its funny when you bail out and the plane explodes killing you. Also and best of all, when you bail and your chute opens then callapses from the explosion of your plane. Really makes me laugh my butt off.

That certainly changes my view on this whole blood/'realism' bussiness. Makes me feel like an ignorant little bastard. Thanks for the poke, guys. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Reminds me of a thing I said a good while back in an Iraq war thread, which was rather strong. Posted that without thinking and should have said sorry back then. (edit: Actually, I shouldn't have posted that back then at all.)
HeavyD, you reacted pretty strongly to it, understandably, going from the things I "know" about your background. Sorry mate. And sorry to all the rest that has taken offense to that post.

But what are you doing bailing out! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Sorry if I offended anyone with my callous remarks. I actually don't mind how bailouts are in FB and shouldn't have made light of how it was in real life, which unfortunately some of you have seen. I'll dedicate my prose to less touchy issues.

I am not offended. I think everyone is entitled to thier oppinion. I expressed mine. I seen enough gore. Once I attacked a convoy in FB and saw them men running. It shocked me. I felt like I was back in the desert. But I got a hold of myself. Its just a game. I guess I just dont want to see major Gore. That is all

Just so the other side of the fence has a chance to comment.

I've seen my fair share of nasties in life.

Flying Helicopters usually means that sooner or later you will see something that makes you gag.

Having said that, I would prefer that this sim include everything. If that means gore then so be it. The game starts with gore set by default to off. Ok, so if you want it then you turn it on.

If it isn't for you then so be it.

I wish the jumps looked better and I for one would like to see blood on the windscreen.

I remember reading somewhere—I think in the pilot's notes—that in the P-39 all you had to do was open that door and lean and you were sucked out of the canopy. I think that normal procedure is to bail out when the aircraft is in stable flight. There were also many occasions where the cockpit wouldn't open due to airframe damage. Might not always have been up to the pilot about when to bail...

I've noticed that the pilot waits different amounts of time before bailing, so there must be an algorithm for some conditions before being able to jump out. He also wouldn't gradually drift away from the plane, he's much less aerodynamic. I'd rather see him be pulled quickly away from the plane than see some kind of collision detector.

The early Hurricane and Spitfire pilots were told to open the canopy, release their harness and then flip the plane onto it's back so that they dropped out. Parachutes were fairly new to the RAF at that point, they previously believed that parachutes would make the pilots cowardly and liable to ditch the aircraft!

XyZspineZyX
07-02-2003, 10:22 PM
skip the blood and gore, let's just have so the pilot can
hit the stabilizer and then swear a lot. like this:

Plane is shot to pieces

Pilot bails

Pilot hits tail with his right arm

Pilot holds wounded arm, swears and curses at the one who
invented stabilizers. "I hope that a$$hat who invented
stabilizers had hairy children, too many toes" etc, etc...

Research must be done on swearing, and voice packs recorded/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

And if the pilot in question is hit in the fragile parts by one of the stabilizers, I'd say there should be the sound of churchbells being rung.
