TIMEOUT issues acknowledged by dev team.

"?? ?????????? ???????? ????????? ?????? ? Win2K. ???? ?????? ??????????? ?? ???, ?? ????? ?????? XP ????????. ? ????????? ????? ????????."

Translation
We found conflict with latest version of Win2k. If server uses it, then it will kick clients with WinXP. We will fix is in the patch that will be released shortly.

Now, i would assume this issue would affect win2k client versus winXP client (when you run coops or host game using client installation)<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

So glad you made this update, I am looking at these threads on an hourly basis, 2 questions/concerns come to my mind

1) any explanation on what timeout1 and 2 mean?

2) I can see a Timeout 2 problem with WinXP Professional client as well, even when the server is WinXP (so no Win2K dependency there). Now could I (or should I) hope that the planned patch will fix that, too, or better collect more data about that problem and submit to 1C already now?<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Timeout mate it`s pretty much when server kicks you as a client. You lost connection due to being kicked http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I could see 3 different variants of timeouts so far:
- getting a usual TIMEOUT message as before in 4.05m
- getting the new TIMEOUT 1 message quickly after joining
- getting the new TIMEOUT 2 message quickly after pressing (Re)Fly.

I guess the difference in error messages mean different reasons why the server kicks someone. Especially interesting that the new TIMEOUT 1 and 2 were never seen before AFAIK - so why were they introduced? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Anything to do with the anti-cheating online protection?<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Is this a 1946 issue? Cause starting yesterday, I kept getting booted with a "timeout". I am using 4.05<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Any guesses as to why I keep getting a timeout with 4.05? I noticed that the game seems to be running slow. And why that is, I have no idea.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

more information regarding TIMEOUT2

according to my tests, this happens when trying to fly specific planes. I always get timeout 2 when trying to fly these planes:
YP-80
Me-262A-2a
Yak-15

No problem to fly however from the new set:
Il-10
Mig-9FS

I have made some random tests with other planes, P51D, P38, P47, Temptest, FW190D, F4F, etc. they can be flown, no problem. If I take those planes, I can fly the mission without trouble.

I was thinking about a faulty install, but
- my install was from DVD
- it went into a completely new folder (4.05m remained on PC)
- no problems whatsoever during install or running '46
- the file sizes and file dates were compared between the server and the client, all match
- I can fly the YP-80 offline in QMB, no problem

It's not a server side problem either. Others can fly the problematic planes in the same mission, except for me.

Thanks very much for the update Ivan!
Good to see some feedback from the dev. team on the problem.
Will have to wait till 4.08m to get the fix though.

Is there a scheduled release date for 4.08m that they are working to? Jan/Feb or dare i say it, March?

I think 1C should at least test the games by itselft before publishing them, not give a patch afterward. Did they even forget to do a game perfomace test? IIRC same thing happened when 4.00 came out.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I understood the problem of the program that I drove in Windows 2000.

However, is there the problem that cannot join in Server of WindowsXP in program (v4.07m) of Windows 2000 drive?

I cannot participate even if I test any XP-Server.

FYI, I provided a detailed report regarding TIMEOUT2 to the e-mail address pf at 1C.ru. The report includes a full packet trace between the server and client and some other validation logs. I hope some kind of workaround can be found about this soon, even though I am pretty aware that very few people work between the holidays, until the first few days of January.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
