Don't think it has anything to do with what version you're running, just Hyperlobby servers fell into a black hole )-:

HyperLobby is the only place I go online to play IL-2 Forgotten Patches. However, I've wondered ever since I started going there about how he pays the bills. Before you begin with the he's a guy with a big heart and bigger finances helping us dolts, try to remember a couple of points...

1) Servers the size of HyperLobby's are not cheap to buy or maintain. With all the final patch versions we'll see and regular duties such as defeating DOS attacks from people who... only God knows why, like to mess with servers.

2) Even if the server only draws 1,000 watts of power that's, let's see... 24hoursX30 days = 720 Kilowatt hours a month! That's just for the server and not the building it's in or the air conditioning or parts or etc.

3) No, you can't get a pipeline that costs like $30.00 to $90.00 U.S. to hook up all that traffic to the internet. My friend who works the IT department for a spammer says it takes more like the $1,400.00 to $3,000.00 U.S. kind to keep that connection sound.

There is no advertising (yes, there is a link to his web site and that site has no advertising as well) and HyperLobby charges no fees to the people who use it. Don't get me wrong, I really appreciate the service.

I just wonder how they keep it up and running when it provides no income at all. Jiri, I'd gladly pay a monthly fee to have HyperLobby service.

400 Kc for year (15 USD). Hosting service http://www.jinak.cz. It can be used only for non comercial purposes. For this there are not aby words about donations etc. Very soon i switch it to my own servers, but it will need to be donated, shareware or something related /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif
