Hayabusa Ia, Ib and Ic are flyables.

There is a Mod. II AI.

They are a lot of fun, IMHO a perfect match up against early Alied types. Its agility vs their more powerfull guns.

I just love to open her canopy just before combat, for that extra early war feel.

IMHO the Ki-43 is a lot of fun and one of the good things in PF.

Sweet, thanks for the info. I'm so excited, just two more days. If anybody has any screenshots that would be awesome.

The gunsight is great fun! You will need to map a joystick button to the Shift-F1 function to make use of it though.

One of my favorites in PF...well actually all planes are fun to fly but the Oscar is extremely light & maneouvrable...almost toylike. And yes i agree to get the most out of the telescopic gunsight youll need to have a button assigned on the stick. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Sry no pic of the gunsight view because on the tracks the cover dont move even if i removed it while recording...

The Ki-43 is an amasingplane in PF and it eats early Zeros for breakfast, its just so much fun flying!

i think the Hayabusa kick's ***, i got a 21 - 4 ratio on killing Corsair's :-))

allthough, folks here should know, a turnfight against almost all jap. planes is a sure way to say bye to life....

I know I think the speed for the A6m2 should be boosted. However, as an IJAAF boy I wanna know if the Ki-43 can handle high speed turns better than the Zero? Can it?

Glad you guys like my Ki-43!

The model has a few errors on it for some reason, but I think it will be fixed. The radiator flaps, oil cooler, split flap instead of fowler. Also the texture that shipped is rather old, and a lot of the seams were fixed. Does anyone want an updated/better texture for the Ki-43i?

Well I don't have PF and I already know it will be my main ride. I really hope the fowler flap will be fixed. Thats pretty necessary http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Hi,

Refreshing to have a plane with a worse gunsight than the 190! This one will take some getting used to...

What's the technique? Zoomed in or forget the sight completely and just get close and personal?

Cheers,
Norris

anybody wanna do some performance testing?
I havenāĀ“t played PF for a couple of days
but if Im not mistaken I think it will handle better in highspeed dives than the Zero http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

You don't want to get in close an personal in PF, ESPECIALLY when shooting at Japanese aircraft that tend to explode easily in mid air. Cause mid air explosions are now treated much like bombs, you get caught up in one and your probably going to lose a wing at least.

Hi Gibbage - didn't realise it was one of yours. The Ki is a great addition to the game and has a lot of character. Your work is giving a great deal of pleasure to those of us in Europe who already have PF. Thanks, mate.

By updated texture, do you mean skins?

Regards,

RocketDog.

Gibbage i'm all for your new texture simply based on the void that shipped with PF.
It's so weird.
it's like 5 parts, and all blacked out.
It struck me as odd...

I love Ki-43. Flies beautifully..

The only drawback is its backwards visibility as it is not possible to look back from shift-F1 view as in other planes.. Fighting against faster american planes without knowing what's behind you is going to be a challenge IMHO.

As an early PF Ki 43 fan I don't feel ashamed to say yes to that offer!!

Was just about to start a template of my own, but if it can be based on your original (wink, wink) all the better. I have quite extensive material on the Hayabusa, so I'm ready to start skinning.

Next to the USN bird I find the Hayabusa most fun, which I never expected before I got PF. Ironically I do not like the Ki 61 as a virtual steed. Guess Nakajima just suits my style.

Now if only we see some later mod. Hayabusas and a Shoki or two than we can really start rocking Nakajima style. Nice development history when putting these three a/c next to eachother, exactly what this game is about.

Again, kudo on the Ki 43, one fan here.

Must be careful to retain some cynicism don't want to be confused with a fanboy!

Do you think so?

Natural metal effect is always difficult to attain, but I don't think the Mod. II looks that bad. Actually the only bad thing I see about it is NOT being able to fly that crate!

Hopefully they can create a flyable one soon (Gibbage?).

I'd offer assistance if I didn't know that have most sources already.

Did I mention a Ki 44 before?

So the folwer flap is not modeled yet? I am correct in thinking that it is basically an automatic combat flap? I just think it will make the Ki-43 a lot better, not to mention the ki-44 we will never get.

was that a B-17C in the screenie, it has no tail turret.

ah, I knew it would be my Fave as soon as I heard it would be Flyable over the FP. Still don't have FP yet here in Ussia but Ki~43 is already my Fave by definition.

Well, a Fowler type flap opens differently to the types on most planes in the game:

http://www.centennialofflight.gov/essay/Evolution_of_Technology/High_Lift_Devices/Tech6G3.jpg

I'm not sure if this is the same as the type of combat flap system the Shiden's employed where there was a manometer that measured AoA and automatically adjusted the flap settings accoringly.

And yes, its a crying shame the Ki-44 won't get in as flyable as things currently stand (although IIRC a guy over at Netwings said he is working on a model for Luthier?).
