They're armed with sticky-bombs. You know what I'm talking about, standard GI socks filled with C4...it's in the field manual...

LOL!

Yeah, I've played around with 4.09beta a bit. The new maps are amazing. I tried the new distance setting, but my video card can't handle that kind of thing. I'm barely able to get the game to run at acceptable frame rates as it is on 1024x768. As soon as I get some money for a new card, I'll be set.

I'm actually glad that my nF3 mobo went West recently. I moved up a notch or two and had to replace my vid-card with a PCI-E x1950 Pro with 512Mb of memory. The new visibility setting is fantastic along with the stunning maps.

I spent a few hours exploring Slovakia from a P80 with a couple of mates. We never fired our guns - we just kept giving each other vectors to objects and vistas of interest and amazement. Teamspeak was alive with "wow, that ruined castle in the woods"..."take a look at that rock-face"...."hey, there's my mom's house - just down the second street on the left, by the school" and so on.

I've enjoyed most of the maps in the IL2 series but these are on a whole different level, and certainly worth up-grading your graphics for.
