I did search around a bit regarding performance of PF vs. IL2/AEP. I found a smatering of info, but nothing definitive. So . . . my obvious question. I have an AMD 2400+ with 512 megs o' ram and an ATI 9600 pro - will the game run comparably with AEP? I noticed AEP seems to slowdown noticably when in the pacific maps. Otherwise, I am quite happy with the performance of AEP on my rig at 1024 x 768 (no AA, not perfect mode) with all maxed out. Is AEP comparable? Advice or a heads up to a relevant thread would be great.

Thanks.

yes your system can handle PF

That Pacific map in AEP is porked because of 3000 palm trees in a very small area -- high density if you know what that means. For PF maps they reduced the palm tree density and they said they were making lower fps hit palm trees for PF.

You can destroy the palm trees in FMB anyway using Destruction slider. Its in the manual, but it doesn't work for online maps according to crazyivan, or it didn't.

With P4 2.4Mhz,ATI 9600 pro and 1Gb of RAM
I'm getting good performance playing Facific
Fighters at 1024 x 768 2xAA,2xFSAF with perfect mode.
Your bottle nake seems to be - too little RAM.
a stick of another 512M can helf you a lot.
