Hi all,

I have a flickering problem in perfect mode, at any resolution from 1600x1200 to 800x600. fps drop to 2 and i have a dark screen every 2 seconds.
My cpu is a P4 2ghz.
Try ATI drivers 4.8, 4.9, 4,10 and omega 2290, plus every water setting from 0 to 3 but with no noticeable change.
When in excellent mode instead of perfect, all is clean and fps is about 80.
any advice plz ?

Not sure but,
I think you can have perfect water (3) only whit the newest Nvidia card...

Gawwad is right you need a 6800 and DX9.c to run Water=3 correctly as it uses PS3 and it is not supported by the x800 series.

You should be able to use water = 0, 1 or 2 on an ATi card. Water = 3 is the only setting that calls up Pixel Shader 3.0 and is therefore only useable on the latest Nvidia cards.

Does it run OK in "excellent" mode?

Using DirectX or OpenGL? I run excellent setting (have access to but don't use perfect) and don't have the stutters. I changed from DirectX to OpenGl (this allowed access to perfect). The game runs smoother but I haven't really tried a mission that throws up a lot of AA fire. Try it, worst that happens is ya set it back to the previous setting. (9600xt w/256m Cat 4.10)

I myself run an ATI 9700 Pro and I had the same problem.I installed ATI Catalyst 4.1 not 4.10 (as explained in the PF readme file) and have had no problem since.

Tx Rock.
I tried with 4.1 catalyst driver and, effectively, it works fine.
I was (stupidely) thinking that drivers are enhanced with each new version, and not worsened...
Thanks for your info,
