..... I'm waiting for Gromit's fighter to be flight modelled. You know, the one with the 40mm porridge cannon firing through the prop hub.

At least I think it was porridge .....<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

<span class="ev_code_white">Oleg: I think players should upgrade their PC after the release of Storm of War: The Battle of Britain, but not now. Minimum system would be probably like last year good system for IL-2 series. The simulation has gone from what was to be a study sim involving one aircraft to a real monster anthology of WWII aviation. The engine has been stretched to fit multi-engined bombers, aircraft that are linked (such as the Mistel and the TB-3/I-16 combinations), aircraft carriers, runway cratering, working searchlights, etc.

It better have the cool peanuts music for the soundtrack.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

But it sure did spur my imagination. We never saw the Baron's plane except in our imagination, but I bet it is just as "real" as Snoopy's Camel doghouse to those of us who grew up watching that show.

BTW, who else remembers the '60s song "Snoopy Verses The Red Baron" by The Royal Guardsmen?<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I remember two songs. The one you mention and the Christmas Bells song.

I remember that one too. I just did a web search and found that they did a few more, at least according to this web site -

http://www.8trackheaven.com/snoopy.html

Not that it really fits this forum, but I wonder if anyone ever did a flying Snoopy and doghouse for the MS flight sims?<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I remember there being a similar game for the Atari 2600, Snoopy and the Red Baron. I'll bet that was quite an impressive flight sim. :-)

I remember when Snoopy took on the Red Baron in 'The Great Pumpkin' I saw that show - as well as 'A Charlie Brown Christmas' when they debuted.

The battle and Snoopy getting shot down, then making his way home through no mans' land...that music, and the full moon...was great.

Charles Schultz was a hockey player, and obviously a fan of flying - if not air combat and dogfighting - not to mention a good story teller and artist....all in all one of my favorite people.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I remember when Whoopie Goldberg had her half hour talk show. She had Charles M. Schultz on. What a great guy and interview.

60 Minutes did one shortly before his death. I don't think any new Peanuts cartoons have ever been created. No pen author or pen artists to continue the Charlie Brown saga. So what you see is older reruns in the funny pages.

I remember that scene in The Great Pumpkin. The skies were awesome as Snoopy is sneaking around under the cover of night. I can still hear him squeel/scream as he's shot down.....waving his fist and cursing the Red Baron of course.

Slightly off the topic, but of interest to Peanuts fans, Fantagraphics books has started releasing a 25 book compilation of EVERY peanuts cartoon ever printed. It's called The Complete Peanuts. Two books per year for 12 and a half years. They just released book #6. Each book spans about 2 years. I've been picking them up for my wife who absolutely loves these cartoons. It's quite interesting seeing the cartoons in chronological order as the characters develop. For any true fan this is a MUST have. (No, I am in no way affiliated with the publisher, just a fan of Peanuts.)

I just happen to still have both the singles the Royal guardsmen made of snoopy.....stashed somewhere at my mothers house. I saw them not long ago. I remember when the great pumpkin first came on in the mid 60s, and my dad (a flight instructor at Ft Rucker) was laughing in glee at the dogfight Snoopy had. I was about 10 yrs old. There was an RC kit of the doghouse that actually flew rather well, believe it or not. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

C'mon Worf, be honest about it, eh?

I know you have the game and are trying to find online competition. Don't worry, Oleg will forgive you. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
