This would be a good place to dump these...

World's largest, and only, MiG-3 website ~> http://mig3.sovietwarplanes.com/

Very large, big, MiG-3 online book. Need to use the BabelFish or CrazyIvan (http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif) online translators.

yeah..i love the first one. i used it to make some research about the Mig 3 family...

would be so nice to see this plane to fly here in Europe...but think the chances are really low. So if you are lucky to see it flying somewhere in the USA...take tons of pics and post them here! ^^

OMG OMG!!!
What a beauty!
Is it really a vintage bird, and if so, how much is original?

I believe that aircraft is all new construction and powered by an Allison V1710.

wrong...the article sais that the plane is original and just restored. Its one one the six Mig3 that they saved.
About the engine i dont know.

Indeed an Allison!
The Mig3-site mentions AM38F-powered projects, let's hope we get to see (and hear) one of those in the air as well!

AFAIK only the Allison powered MiG-3 replica has flown yet. The sound of the Mikulin powered will be quite different because it runs at bit over 2000rpm while the Allison runs at 3000rpm.
