It's hard to say, there will be so many good ones to choose from. Unlike the updates we've been getting which only gave us a couple of planes that I really cared about flying, FB will be loaded with lots of great planes. Any one of them could be my permanent mount for the next couple of months. The first plane I fly will probably be the ME262, just to experience the speed and firepower of four 30mm cannons. The Dora will be another great one. The FW190 was my first "favorite" plane but later gave way to the 109G-6/AS after I got tired of the extreme E bleed of the 190's. (That's been partially rectified in more recent updates.) The 109K-4 would seem a logical next favorite for me coming from the G-6/AS, but according the the information on it in the game, it's performance will hardly be better than the G-6/AS. We'll have to see. The LA-7 should be an outstanding plane, but I don't think I will prefer it any more than I do the LA-5 now, which I rarely fly. If I had to predict a next favorite, I'd say it will probably be the P-47. The prospect of having eight .50 caliber MG's sounds fun, and the flight characteristics are probably similar to the 190's I'm already familiar with. Factor in the ruggedness and the dive capabilities, and I think it will be a great plane for online dogfighting.

Yup the P47 should also be really interesting. But from what I heard from the K4 is that it's a really good climber and really fast (even more a climber than the G6AS)

I´m very curious for the Hurricane. And if someone takes a heart and create the cockpits for the Ms406 and Bf110, I would like to fly these planes.

Well, which one the most I can't say, only time will tell. The first two I'm gonna try will be the Hurricane and the P-40, followed closely by the He-111.

Hell, I'm gonna enjoy flying them all. Oh yeah the La7 should be a real killer.

Hell I can't wait anyway you look at it.

Every bomber I can get my hands on, plus the 262..........Well what did you expect? Hurricane will be interesting to try as well. I wonder if any seaplanes will become flyable at later dates, that would be interesting!

The most sacred place is being kept for Dora-9; the follow ups are K4 and i like the idea of P47. The only plane that will break my love affair with LW planes is so much awaited Tempest, but it does not look I will get it soon.

Then right away fly the Fw190F, that thing should be a blast if you can avoid fighters and just take on an entire tank batallion.

Should be interesing to fly some of the new lend-lease planes the russians recieved as well.

Really depends on the year.

1944 onward I'll be flying the FW190D-9.

If I'm in a really bad mood and not interested in a fair fight, I'll be taking the Me262 up.

Early years are potentialy the most fun and these planes are going to be a blast:

P-40

Hurricane

109E

Mig3.

Also, Oleg will add the Ta152 after release of FB.

^S^ everybody!
Of course, Ju-87D3 and G model, but also multi-engine bombers.
For fighters, Hurricane, P-40 ... to be honest, Fw190 should be a very good platform for ground attack but I am not really confident in that bird, do not know why guys, just a feeling!
What´s for sure, I will try them all ... such a great add-on. Regards,

S! All!

The HE-111 will be very interesting and might be the first aircraft I fly in FB.

The P-40 will definitly be the second aircraft flown, as this has been my favorite American fighter since childhood. If a Flying Tiger skin becomes available, the temptation to take up the P-40 will be even more likely!

Next candidates are, the 87D3, then the G, followed by the Dora, then Hurricaine.

I will very probably continue flying in the P-39. If you mean which of the planes that aren't already in IL-2, then I am most eagerly awaiting the P-40.

P-40

Sorry. I could do with a P-63... I want to see what it feels like to handle a twin-engined plane (He-111), and I am also curious to see how engine management is with the Me-262 and how it handles. I am also looking forward to the Hurricane, I-153 (manoeuvers!) and P-47, because of the flight models. I already have so much confidence that the flight models will be accurate that I am taking it for granted. The La-7 will definitely be interesting, although the La-5FN doesn't do all that much for me.

I think it would be fascinating to make hardware controllers for the double throttle, mixture and prop pitch of the He-111 and then try to manage the engines when one of them gets damaged in an attack. Try holding your course on target, release bombs, try to escape, then baby her home and try to land. In the wind.

The P-40.

Mike

I'll start out with the P-47 for a while, and see how that plane goes, then I'll try out everything else. Chances are I'm going to settle into on of the American fighters, though. They just suit my style.

I've been considering doing just that. I was thinking it might be possible to take a decent, cheap four axis USB joystick, hack it up, and turn it into a reasonable throttle.

I'm most interested in the P-40 and the Hurricane for the fighter planes.

And I intend to invest a fair amount of time mastering the bombers! Sure, we'll just be big targets on HyperLobby, but the challenge of getting it home in one piece is going to be a kick in the pants (direction optional)!

3) Fw 190F8

2) Fw 190A4
3) Fw 190D9
4) Mig 3UB
5) Hurricane's

I like the midwar servers best /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif .

----------------------------------------
The Bf 109G6 A/S is truely an uber target drone. Its fuselage is designed to completly break off with just a few hits and its engine is designed to die with a single hit from anything. The control unit (pilot) is also very easy to disable with even the smallest MG's. The speed of the Bf 109G6A/S is low but not so low that it becomes difficult to follow. Its turn and roll rates are at a comfortable level for most trainees and it allows them to gain experience in deflection shooting. The Bf 109G6 A/S is also slow to climb which allows VVS flyers to practice B&Z on it.

The P-47, P-39, P-40, and when available, the P-51 and P-63.

Notice a trend?

Certainly will try them all, but probably will stick to Fw 190A series.

I am really looking forward to see the Do 335 eventually.

Hmmm...The good ol' P40 comes to mind, there's just something about the Warhawk/Kittyhawk, good looks for one...& being patriotic, they did a good job defending Aussieland during WW11 in the pacific theatre! Yep, hangin' out for this one, lookin' good Oleg! Keep it up!

He111 will be cool too!

PS Thanks for the reply's to my FW190 handling queries.

Bf 109K-4 for the most time, and when I get bored of fighter business probably the He-111 (later the Ju-88 when it will be ready) and the new Stuka Ds.

I am aldo curious what the D-9 will be like. And definetely interested how the P-47 and P-51 will fly with correct and real FM.

But of course I will try out all of them. But I will fly the 109K-4 for fighter sorties.

---------------------P-40! A choice?

Has anybody read the record on that ole' dog. It climbs like a rock...

I flew it some in CFS2...it climbs like a rock.

---------------------Hurricane

Turns great got a lotta what you need, but won't do zip against a YAK3 of LA5, can't climb with them.

--------------------- Stuka is Stuka

If you love Stuka what can I say...

--------------------- I think I'd like a little more climb rate, a little better turn, and some more noise up front...

I'm looking forward to the new LA7 and Dora

--------------------- Or just give me my YAK 3 with some more noise up front.

I flew the P-47 in CFS1...what a dog

You could have 20 fifties, and that thing stinks. It's gonna take some new kinda AI for you to do anything with it in offline combat.

Online your gonna have to be high and B & Z like crazy, with a little help from your friends.

That a/c weight is about 9,000 + pounds. Course you'll be OK if your flying against someone with small MG...then you just let them shoot the heck outta you and you keep plugging on...

That thing is an elephant with a fat nose.

Gee, a 1940's plane can't hang with the late war models? Who'da thunk it!

Anyway, Yaks and La's are Russian planes. I'll be flying WITH them, not against them. (Coop flyer talking here).

There`s no doubt that I am going to sit in the office of the "Schwalbe" most of the time when playing FB. I am also looking forward to flying the Dora and the Hurricane. I am also excited about the multi-crew options for the He-111.

ever since il-2 first came out i used to fly the G-6/AS with mk:108 nosecannon because it was the newest one now i cant leave it. Lots of german aces used to keep their old planes cause they were used to them.

I also fly the FW-190 A9 with 103 gunpods

Stab.I/JG1Death at HL, Maj_Death at Ubi.com

At the start of WW2 the German army lacked experienced anti-aircraft gunners. The average gunner was so bad that the USSR decided to help them out. They did it by forcing some of their pilots to fly I-153 flak magnets. These planes were slow but very sturdy. This allowed German anti-aircraft gunners to get a large amount of target practice on a relatively small number of planes. Thanks to the Soviets help, by the end of the war the German anti-aircraft gunners were amoung the best in the world.
