I was just sitting here at home still in pain from not being able to play il2 cause of my dead vid card on my good comp AND while watching The Killing Fields there was a scene with a P-80 with muzzleflashes on its wings... So what Im wondering is, did the P-80 really have guns on its wings?(20mm?.50?)
beh, im awfully tired so perhaps it was just my eyes?

No, not produced that way. But there may have been experimentation with gun-pods or rocket pods that may give the illusion of muzzle flashes from the wings.

in korea It has extra ordnance
load hardpoints, so rockets and/or .50 cal gun pods will show under the wings. not just hollywood crap

Are you sure?
I read that on wings' hardpoints the P-80 could carry just up to 2 x 1000 lb bombs, or some rockets. Never read about guns... Maybe at the end of its career, as you say...

I have done a lot of research on the P-80 and never seen any wing guns or gun pods in it. I know Lockheed had 2 .50 cal gunpods for the P-38 in WWII, but im not sure if they used them on the P-80. Its possible since in Korea they used the P-80 a lot for straifing. MAybe they just started slapping guns on it like the B-25 in WWII. Some models of B-25 had about 14 .50 cal's. There was even a P-38 with 12 .50 cals. US got Browning crazy late war when they realized they could rip open Tigers like aluminum cans and even sink the Bizmark with enough .50 cals.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think that the planes on that film are not F-80s, but McDonnell FH-1 Phantom I or F2H strike fighters from the mid-50s. Look some of this. (Not to be confused with F-4 Phantom II! A completely different plane.)
