View Full Version : Test of planes 1941-1942

I have measured the maximum speed of the planes of 1941-1942 with the next settings : 100% of fuel, 110% (and 100%) of power + pitch mode auto + radiator closed (no auto) in german planes and 110% (and 100%) of power + pitch 100% + radiator closed in russian and american planes, flying in a QM at sea level in Smolensk map. I always made a dive from 1000 m and followed the same route flying at 0 m. This is a example track with a P39 N1 http://150.214.198.122/~juanjo/P39.TRK .

For measure the times to overheat I always flied at 500m in straight line with the same settings that I used for maximum speed. I began to measure the time when QM started.

Model plane: B239

Maximum speed at 110% : 420
Time to overheat with 110% : 5 minutes 50 seconds
Maximum speed at 100% : 400
Time to overheat with 100% : more than 15 minutes flying and overheat message didnt appear

Model plane: P40E 1941

Maximum speed at 110% : 460
Time to overheat with 110% : 2 minutes 10 seconds
Maximum speed at 100% : 440
Time to overheat with 100% : 4 minutes 15 seconds

Model plane: P39 N1

Maximum speed at 110% : 510
Time to overheat with 110% : 2 minutes 50 segundos
Maximum speed at 100% : 500-490
Time to overheat with 100% : more than 15 minutes flying and overheat message didnt appear

Model plane: Yak1/Yak7B (both planes have similar performance qualities)

Maximum speed at 110% : 480
Time to overheat with 110% : 2 minutes 55 seconds
Maximum speed at 100% : 470-460
Time to overheat with 100% : more than 15 minutes flying and overheat message didnt appear

Model plane: Yak1b

Maximum speed at 110% : 530-520
Time to overheat with 110% : 3 minutes 20 seconds
Maximum speed at 100% : 510
Time to overheat with 100% : more than 15 minutes flying and overheat message didnt appear

Model plane: LaGG3 s4 1941

Maximum speed at 110% : 500-490
Time to overheat with 110% : MORE THAN 20 MINUTES FLYING AND OVERHEAT MESSAGE DIDNT APPEAR (I reported this bug in other thread some days ago)
Maximum speed at 100% : I didnt make this test because the russian pilots that read this post will fly all time with 110%
Time to overheat with 100% : Infinite

Model plane: I-16 Type24

Maximum speed at 110% : 430-420
Time to overheat with 110% : 55 seconds
Maximum speed at 100% : 400
Time to overheat with 100% : more than 15 minutes flying and overheat message didnt appear

Model plane: La5 1942

Maximum speed at 100% + Forshaz : 550-540
Time to overheat with 110% : 5 minutes 5 seconds
Maximum speed at 100% : 520

Model plane: FW190 A4

Maximum speed at 110% : 550-540
Time to overheat with 110% : 3 minutes 35 seconds

Some conclusions:

La5 1942 can fly with 100% + Forsaz over 5 minutes without overheating but I have read that the period of use of this boost should be only 2 minutes, Im wrong??.

In the test 109 G2 is slower than yak1b but in object viewer the speed at sea level for G2 is 535 kmh and for yak1b is 531 kmh.

Maximum speed at sea level for P39N1 is 500 kmh in object viewer and in the test is a bit high.

For me, it is curious that all DB600 series of E7, F2, F4 and G2 have exactly the same time to overheat but I havent got data for say nothing about it.

Guys, what do you think of this test???? There are some speed too small or too high??? I think that many of them are nearly to data of object viewer, only a few of them need be modified.

The LA5 will out run anything.

The 190A-4 can outrun everthing but the LA5.

The Lagg3, the Yak1B, P-39 N1, the F and G model 109s are all very even in speed.


The P-40E is slower than the 109E7 by 10 mph during wep and has 30 seconds less wep before overheat.


The Yak1/Yak7 is faster than the E model but slower than the F/G model 109s.

The numbers you have match what I tested for those planes that I tested.

-I didn't realise you could activate WEP on LA5, seems it is really the same as LA5F (LA5F can use 110%+WEP rather than just 100%+WEP, but only 5kph difference at sea level).

-FW190s get average 10kph more by not using auto pitch. This nakes engine rev higher and hopefully overheat quicker.

-Object viewer doesn't give a sea level speed for the P40E, but for the field mod (which should be the same or a bit slower) it says 480, and my testing at the altitudes the object viewer does give show it to be very much too slow ingame.

-In general planes I have tested seem within 10kph of what the object viewer says (except the P40s are too slow and the FW190D9 '44 is much faster at altitude than the object viewer says).

I was tested LA5 yesterday. You can fly at 100% + Forshaz abut 5 minutes .. when msg ENGINE OVERHEAT appear you can still fly at 100% + Forshaz next 5min or more .. then slow down turn off forshaz and when is engine temperature normal you can repat it http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

you can fly 550km/h TAS at SL (250m) for an unlimited amount of time if you fly on 85% of throttle and FORSAZH on in La5...

550-560 is a speed La5 should be capable of for only 10min (see view objects)

so the FORSAZH should kill the engine after 10min of use if not disabled

I dont know what should be the "unforsazhed" speed but I assume about 520 according to the speed you reach with 100% throttle and no forsazh

so basically the plane should be able to fly 550 for 10min and then 520 only...

which is not true now

I allready reported this bug.

I think that should be modified in the final patch too.
