I've had TIR since christmas and am really used to it now (I love it!). I am using the ver 3.13 drivers and have seen people talking about the version 4 drivers. Is there any real benefit in PF to using the version 4 drivers?

thanks

YES!
they track way nicer even without the vector device. With the vector device the thing tracks as solid as a rock.
Really even without the 6 axis movement Track IR shouldnt be sold without the vector tracker. It really really improves the product. To what people imagine it can do when they buy it in the first place.
But use the new driver..its better.

Get the new drivers. Tracking is better, especially out on the edges where there would be track loss or stutter. I tend to whip my head around like a frenzied Dervish on crack. Ver 4 drivers are far more tolerant of my spastic movement.

Yeah...get the new drivers. Like everyone has said...much smoother tracking.

LOL...I've had them on my USB pocket drive since last week. I'm just so hesitant as my v3 pro is working sooooo well right now.

Maybe I'll play with them tonight.

I like the v4 drivers better too, but if you use non-enhanced mode for anything, you might want to stick with v3 for now since non-enhanced was left out of v4.

The new drivers are better...the interface is much more modern - kind of XPish rather than Win 3.1ish like the old ones. You will lose any profiles you had with ver3 drivers...this annoyed me at first as I'd spent ages setting up a perfect deadzone and curve....but the new drivers come with lots of presets....including a deadzone which just needed 2 minutes of tweeking, and is now better than the profile I made for ver3. I got the vector expansion yesterday and it rocks! The tracking is sooo acurate now and it feels really good to use. The only game I have with full vector support is the dreaded CFS3...but I've been having fun moving my head into all sorts of weird positions and zooming in etc. Well worth the 30 odd quid I paid for it.

Just installed them. The interface is much easier to use - also looks cooler.

As for performance: it's not obvious, but I think things are a bit smoother than before.

I read somewhere that these drivers do not eat FPS like the earlier versions, but I haven't tested yet to confirm.

I do know that the version 3 drivers that I was using cost me about 2.5 FPS, so if I get those frames back I'll be a happy camper.

S!

They will work for TIR 2 users correct?

I believe the software works for TIR2, but vector expansion does not and is only for TIR3/pro

Version 4 drivers are much smoother and there is an increase field of view on your six.
