Sign up here for a possible bush pilot competition!! If we get enough people, we may be able to hold this competition soon! I'm almost done with the mission!

Oh, I'm using the U2VS and the Fi-156 Storch on the Online 4 Summer map. I'm trying to land on the mountains. There are some good spots. I'm making a Bush Piloting map at the moment, and so far it's pretty good. There's a great deal of climbing involved. Basically, you have to land at certain points, and finally get to the top, once you get to the top, you win. How's that sound? It's kind of like a race, but with checkpoints where you must come to a complete stop, turn around, and take off again. What do you think? I'll send you the map when I'm done. PM me ur e-mail and I'll be glad to send it.

Crop Duster, all of my maps are on Mudmovers. Hope you like them! As for the Bush Piloting map, I'll put that up there as well. It should be up by this weekend, maybe a bit earlier. I have the P SAT's this week. Try and keep this post up on the board front, I'll write down names. PM me as well and I'll be able to coordinate us.

For the first time in IL2 History, I BUSH PILOTED AN FI-156 ONTO THE PEAK OF A MOUNTAIN 4000 METERS TALL! TRY IT!

Seen this last night and whipped up my own little 'mission' (freeflight), this is Amazingly fun. The Storch flies in a very believable manner, even if it is from external only. Its SToL characteristics are great fun, the Storch is on the top of my list (in fact only aircraft on my list) that I would like to see a cockpit for, wow this little devil is fun.

so how exactly can i try flying the storch alone for practice? you can only fly ai planes on line right? where can i get the mission where you can fly all ai planes or is there one? i'm very confused. sorry about all the questions but i've never really bothered with flying the no cockpit planes

oh wow you gotta love FB. fifty meters from the peak, i accidently hit one of the invisible walls between two squared off land sections: kaboom! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif
well i sorta got there i guess. it's not really a question of if, but more when. spiral after spiral after spiral. i must have gone around that danged mountain 3 times. i don't know how long i would have been on there if i actually tried landing at those sites. jeez and i started off with the u2; big mistake. it has a hard time staying in the air, much less climbing up a mountain side.
it was actually pretty fun though, but i need some serious tips. i would have gone off-roading big time had it not been for that little "feature" that kills you if you get out of the boundaries of a texture polygon thing.
anyways, it was definitely cool, but i don't know how i would fare in a race. how long does it take for you guys to finish? also what would be the rules for this competition? seems like it would be a fun, but time consuming race /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

p.s. wouldn't it be great if we could do some low speed bumper cars up there. maybe try to tip a wing or two. i won't be the guy to try it though; you'd probably just blow up.

Let me start off saying that the team system that applies in game is not permanent. What we're actually doing is putting people on teams to make it simpler. You personally will recieve points based on how you do.What ends up happening is I divide and round up the points evenly between the team for that week, and add it to your personal score.

Rules are really simple actually. There are teams, and these teams are based upon aircraft country markings. We all start at the same airbase, wearing different colored storch Skins. From this base, we have to make it to three designated bases which the refs will land at. You MUST successfully land at that airbase and the other two in order to gain points. The person who lands at the peak first, wins.

Here is the point system:

Land at 1 base: one point
Land at 2 bases: three points
Land at 3 Bases: five points

FINAL: You must successfully pick up one of the referees, here's how:

The referee will crash land a U-2VS on a hillside. The winning team must land on that hillside with the Storch, hold it there until the referee bails out, and then take offland back at base. The final applies to only those people who come in first, second, and third place personally. The Final Points are applied to your team's points. For Example, let's say Crop Duster and I both make it to the finals, if I crash, and Crop Duster lands it and makes it back to base, he gets 10 personal points.

Additonaly, if I crash and create a huge smokestack, I lose 5 points, if I just lose parts of my plane, I lose two points. Furthermore, If I only lose some parts of my plane, the person who picks up the referee has the option of picking me up as well, which would get that person another five points.

If you bail out of your plane, you don't lose any points, but you don't get any either, and, if a surviving pilot lands by your bailed pilots, or the plane's smokestack, whichever's closer, that pilot gets five points.

Seem Simple enough? Want some Changes? just put up what you think!

it might help to set up a practice round one day, just to let everyone see what they're up against, and maybe to recruit some more people who are browsing around in the lobby. i dunno, just an idea.

I guess that's a good idea. I can't host tho. I have a firewall. I'll see If I can turn the settings down. I have business speed cable, so the server would be great. Maybe my dad will finally let me host, who knows.
