Hi madsarmy.

Get the latest (beta last I read) drivers from:

http://www.naturalpoint.com

Improvements include remembering the mode you left it at.

Use the enhanced FB mode.
Modify the profile (some are provided) to set the 'dead zone' to suit yourself. This will prevent your view from shifting unpredicatbly when in the heat of action!

Map a joystick button/key to 'centre view' you will find this is used a lot in the early days!

Persevere - it takes a while to get used to it!
Make sure your lighting, particularly behind you, is good eg no hot spots (right most tab 'tracking' shows you what the IR sensor sees.

Find/make/improvise a good mount for the spots.
I use 3 in a clover leaf shape. Stuck to a '3M post-it note book mark thingy'! I stick this directly to my forehead! Saves on the dots as it is reusable.

Alternative is one of those metal spring paper clips (black spring with two wire 'handles') on the peak of a baseball cap.

Mount the IR unit on top of your monitor and centre the tracking using F12 when you are in your flying position.

PM me with your email and I'll send you a couple of profiles too.

Great bit of kit!

Thanks for the help.
I downloaded the latest drivers, works better now
Gave it a quick test. I think I am really going to enjoy this/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif
Good tip about the dots.
I did read somewhere that you can use reflective tape. Do you know anything about what type of tape this is?
I have also posted my email address to you for the profiles.
Thanks Again

1. Use a lot of dots. This makes a big difference to the smoothness of the motion. I use 3 - 5 in a group. If I use one the motion gets jerky.

2. Get the scanner about 30 - 40 cm away if you can. It's easy to have it too far back.

3. Use a profile with a big dead zone in the centre so slight head movements don't move the field of view. If you PM me your email I can send you the one I use for you to try.

4. Don't sit in a swivel chair!

Regards,

RocketDog.

I tried the 'bunch of dots'.

Worked ok.

I use one dot now - I have no issues at all.

I make sure the motion is a green box.

I see the hat reflector is larger - will be interesting to compare.
