I had them set for 300 meters but have trimed it down to 200. What is a good setting considering average flying and shooting skill?

It depend on from which range you like to fire on your target I guess. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I have my guns set to 300 m and my cannons to 200 m.

I try to save my cannon ammo until I am close because of the slower fire rate.

It depends, are you using a plane with nosemounted guns or a plane with bazookas in the wing?
For nosemounted guns it doesnt really matter that much but a good convergence settings on wingmounted guns can make a huge difference.
Set the convergence to a distance where you are most likely to attack the enemy from.
I use 250 for MG and 150-230 on cannons depending on what type.

For flying against fighters I like to have my MG's converge at 200 meters and my cannons at about 150-100 meters. For flying against bomber formations I extend the ranges to double or even triple that. This is what works for me but everyone has their preferences,

P-39:
MGs: 200-250
Cannon: 100-150

I use 200-250 for MGs and cannons on most fighters unless they have a nose cannon then I use the same convergence as the P-39. If a plane has multiple sets of cannons I'll offset them a little from one another to get a deeper spray range.

I set both MG and cannon to 120m. I mostly start to fire at point blank.

Holy! Prophets exist to this day! Thanks God to that http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Just remember convergence is vertical as well as horizontal.

Thus if you fire at a distance further out than your convergence range fire high .. further in fire slightly low.

Wow! Thats interesting. I guess that sounds right though. I'm kinda stuck chasing bombers. I can't have more than 3-4 planes flying around on this pc and have settled on chasing after bombers. I hate being shot at so I have my guns and cannons set for 600/700. Don't laugh at my un brave soul. :P The only hint I get that I'm on target is a slight flash and the debris field...lol.
