Yes - non-IL2 devotees who visit here can (quite often from my experience) get the wrong impression.

Great simulation and an excellent fun game too!

Yes Indeed !

And more thanks to you Sir BadBernie. For your contribution to the sim aswell. One of my M8's has really progressed in it latley, BaLrOg. I helped Beta test a bit as MAD_Toad but I have since changed that name to this and now fly with the 131st.

what on earth are you on about?

just look at everything thats WRONG with this game:

there must be 30 UNFLYABLE aircraft (and only about 60 flyable)

the p47 rolls to slow.
the dora rolls too fast!

when the pilot bails out he dives to the floor whether his aircraft is going to explode or not!

there is NO difference in size of cartridge ejected from the plane whether it's from a 20mm cannon or a 7.62mm mg !!

there is only TWO species of trees -the ones in forests and the ones on they're own!

i'm also begining to suspect the laws of physics are not perfectly modelled either....

and these are just to name a few..... this game is riddled with defects and other nonsense. great game! - pffft

I certainly hope that your tongue in cheek joking won't be taken seriously, but I am afraid that it will.

Salute from TX-Squadron!!

I think I can speak for alot of TX folks who will chime in on this one.... Some of us have been around since the original IL2 and have spent countless hours getting our money's worth out of the small investment of this software.

My .02, My money was well spent.

Thanks to Oleg, his team, AND everyone else who contributes to this community in a positive way. Way too many names to list here....but you folks know who you are. The folks who are always bending over backwards to help someone in need....the non bashing folks. Nary a negative comment from these people and it does not go unnoticed!! For that I salute you...you folks make this community and game my home...

Thanks for starting this topic Bernie and thanks for the work that you and Sammie have done on the FB scripting. As I mentioned in another thread you have taken the scripting to a new level and added an excellent functionality that was missing from IL2.

I agree also that we have a great game. While it has flaws like any other game, I think it's pretty well uncontested as the best prop sim on the market. All the negative comments aside, the game is still very fun to play.

My sincere appreciation to 1C/Maddox for their work on the game and for UBI making their contributions.

BadBernie is an amazing individual that has done some great work for FB. I see his scripts everywhere these days and with good reason, they allow hosts to break up the monotony of simple dogfight rooms by adding objective based criteria that will rotate to the next map among other things.

TX Squadron did very well back in IL2 with the work that TX-Kingsnake did on scripting. He found some documentation of commands and proceeded to create the original scripts used to rotate maps, kick players and set icon dot ranges etc in the old game. We used his scripts there for a long time and they worked very well for what the game allowed. Il2 was limited in many ways for this sort of thing but I am still proud of the results we achieved and acknowledge a debt of gratitude to Kingsnake.

In FB there are many new options to employ and I'm glad that Sammie and BadBernie have put the effort into creating a script that does everything the old ones did and a whole lot more. Without the efforts of people like those two, of people like Gibbage, Luthier, Hunter, Snorri and others I am certain this game would not be as popular as it is. We have a powerful community with a large number of talented individuals that has taken a great game and made it much better. As others have mentioned, there are so many people that have contributed I can't mention everyone, so if I've left anyone out please accept my apologies...you guys know what you have done and know that the community appreciates and respects your work.

I look forward to more scripting break through's and am very interested in seeing what they have done for the dedicated server scripting.

Salute gentlemen!

ok - i think my humour is a bit too subtle for some /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

This game is fantastic

A day does not go past when i do not play it (unless i am stranded away from my computer)I have even installed a copy of IL2 on my only other friend who has a computer system.

99% of my friends are sick of hearing me talking about IL2 and forgotten battles

one of the few friends that actually comes round to my house(xiolablu3) is getting tired of me playing FB when he is here (he says he enjoys watching me play - but is constantly trying to coax me into playing other games such as counterstrike and vietcong)- he says things such as "god, aren't you bored sick of this game" etc etc.

this game has virtually cost me a degree in computing and what must amount to weeks of my time (spare or otherwise)

All in all i LOVE FB and think it is the best game ever on any system. I have played this game probably more than all other games i have ever played put together.

Thank you Oleg, thank you 1C and UBI and thanks to everyone who has contributed to this game, from the modellers and testers to those who spend time creating scripts and missions and hosting games so others can fly online with lesser systems.

also thanks to all the community members who go out of their way to be kind and helpful to newbies and others members that need guidance /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif
