does anyone use a p38 style controller? I wondered what the saitek one was like? Less versatile then a simple stick, but might be fun to fly a p38 in the sim with a more realistic controller?

For it to be truly realistic it would have to be mounted on a stick, otherwise the Saitek, or CH yoke should work fine.

For it to be truly realistic it would have to be in an actual P-38 in flight.

I used a CH Virtual Pilot Yoke from 1994 until 2003 and it was great. Some people might say that you have quicker controls with a stick over a yoke but the differences are small and a great pilot will still be an ace with one and a crap pilot will still be just as bad.

The more buttons and easy to use features close to the Yokes controls the better, since you will be using both hands on the controls at the same time.

I found lineing up precise shots in the reticule worked very well with the yoke.

I am using an X-52 now but if my Ch Virtual Pilot wasn't gameport or I had an adaptor or soundcard to use, I would definately take it off the shelf to see how it still holds up.
