I have a small suggestion to make to enhance the realism of explosions in this game.
When reviewing historical footage i am struck by how well the effects=2 settings mimic the real world effects. However, the difference that stands out is there is always a slight delay, especially when the planes hit water. It is not a significant delay, only half a second, but it indicates there is an initial splash when the object strikes the water followed soon after by the plane exploding. I am not sure of the physics that explains the effect but i think it has do with the concussion being contained in the water before bursting out at the surface.
It is something that is very apparent when depth charges are shot into the water- the delay with them of course is much more significant.
It is not an enormous difference, but little tweaks such as this can add to the illusion.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

They really need to get rid of the explosions into a million pieces, especially after 1 second of engine fire, let the planes burn and go down in flames killing the pilot if he dont bail out fast enough.

Some secondary explosions in ammo bays and wingtanks would be great to add further damage, let all ac put out the fires also.

this some ac can put out fires 3 times then explode to nothing vs the 1 time black smoke for 5 minutes then insta fire immediate explosion is BS.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Some fires can burn the pilot, like in Ki-84.

Too bad it's not implimented universally. Some planes you can keep flying even if the cockpit is engulfed in flame.
