=========

We had an alarm call at 21:30
The sky was funny that day, the sun was low in the east, sunrise??
I was busy hanging up my Frauleins washing when the alarm went.
I rushed back to the airfield to my FW190 to find Oberst Mars was still recovering
from the night before.
Hauptman eXe and BuckNutz were already on the runway awaiting orders. I jumped into my FW
and fired up the engine. On the way to the runway I was swinging the plane left and right.
Sheizens that schnapps was gooed, must keep controll.

Oberst Mars took off and we followed suite. After a few circuits we headed 300 guided by HQ.
Some 15 minutes later I saw the allied formation at about 12000 ft in the distance.
I alerted Oberst Mars and we went into attack.

Oberst Mars ordered an attack on the stragglers, but at this point I noticed an escort higher up
and radio'ed Mars my intentions to occupy the escorts. I think my radio stopped working as he did not
get the message.

I broke right and gained altitude and was set upon by a mustang-3. We avoided each other but he latched onto
Hauptmann Exe I think and did some damage. I could not close in time, but he was weary that I was close as
he broke off his attack to look for me.

There was suddenly nobody in the sky except myself and this tommy. We slashed passed each other and turned
to gain the advantage. I went high and he turned down early to cut in. I then turned on my rudder to bring
me close, I pulled the trigger but it was more for effect as he went wide and fast. I followed suite and
realised my mistake as he turned inside me. This tommy was good.

He was now on my six and I put the nose down at a gentle angle and turned. He gave me a short burst, but
nothing came of that. I was now going down at 600KPH and the G-forces were tearing at my body. I was nearly
blacking out with bad tunnel vision but knew that this tommy must be feeling the same. I twisted and turned
on the border of pure blackness until I saw the groundclose by and pulled that much harder on the stick...
blackness ensued but I could see a faint light at the end of the tunnel. I could see the horizon, and a bridge
flew by.. Mein Godd I was low, and eased up on the stick.

For a time that seemed like eternity I flew in blackout condition, barely conscious, and expecting shells to
slam into me , nothing came and the light returned. I turned sharply to the left again there was the tommy,
on my six - "Scheeizzens How am I to get rid of this man". I rolled over, cut throttle and pulled hard on the
stick. the FW190 vibrated violently but I kicked hard on the rudder for a brief moment to change my direction.

The FW came around like 'old faithfull' and pulled hard again to gain height. The tommy missed his direction
and was now on my 4 position. As I went up he swung around onto my six again letting off a burst. I rolled and
pulled hard again, dropping combat flaps, as one or two shells hit my wing. Funny that these shell hits help me
roll faster and I was out of his line of fire, going to the ground again, a mere 200m away.

I was getting desperate, so did the same manouver again with combat flaps. He rolled into me again, but I
could see this, and turned out to the side. This caught the tommy by surprise and there he was going past me
on the other side. I could really feel my heart pounding and cut the engine, applying rudder to keep the plane
level. He passed me over the top and I applied throttle and full rudder to barely keep control as he slipped
in front of me at 11:00.

I HAD HIM!!, but I was slow with combat flaps and he was speeding away at full throttle. I lined him up and
gave a short burst. He didn't move. I gave him another burst, still he didn't move. This was one experienced
tommy. He was getting away... verdammmdt, I let him have another burst..nothing. We're now flying between the
trees. I could barely make him out over the bar. We went over the hill into the misty valley and he was
getting away.. Damm he was gooed.

Then suddenly he did the unexpected... he turned back. My heart pounding I lined up for the attack. I was
excited as I was at speed and my plane acted fast. I gave a blind burst which fell behind as he rolled over
going down to the ground. We rolled together one more time and then he stalled, but recovered within half a
turn. This tommy was sharp. With his stall I was off but pulled hard to take advantage. The FW shaking so much
my teeth felt loose, and as I lined him up he went down again under my nose. We were now close to the ground
and I pushed forward on the stick to see his left wing appear in my sights. I frantically pulled the trigger
and saw my shells explode on his outer left wing, severing that portion. I saw the tommy flip over and then
regain control but there was no hope. So low to the ground he had no chance.

I was so engrossed with this tommy that I forgot to watch my six and desperately looked around for another
but luckily for me I was now alone.

I lived to fight another day.

Stunning story, very good,
was it invented of something you aktually experienced in the game?
some of the Terms i dont understand,
like Turned inside me,
sounds like you were doing a big dive and a strong turn, however i dont understand how to do that with a FW190,

Dogfighting can be difficult to explain,
some pics would do wonder

nice,

your victim was DogOne, in a British mustang Mk III with american markings http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/winky.gif

if i may say anythng...i will anyway!

in the start i thought whats he doing?
your quick opening burst at him on long distance was a bit...off
also the second one a bit later but after that you made some really nice piece of Deflektion shootings. i cant do that, thats for sure
on nearly all of them you couldnt see the target because of the dashboard but you did hit anyway,
especially the last burst clipping the wing off was very well done.

im impressed by the way you used the FW190, ive never really got anything of it mainly because i like turn fighing more than zoom and boom,

this just shows how you can convert zoom and boom engine power to Harsh turning,
with the right speed the fw is good

I know, just a annoyance/rattling tactic I use..

A bit of AI practice always helps. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Yes, the FW can be used as a turning fighter, but you must not stay in the horizontal to long, mix it up a bit - works wonders.

Dogone is a RL pilot and a very good virtual one. He'd just arrived back from 'somewhere' (Paris, I think) that evening so I think he was a bit tired this time, as it's very difficult to outwit him like this. But I feel good about it all the same http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
