Saw this article in another forum, dealing with the disenchantment with respect to the growing usage of PowerPoint in the military. There is a growing backlash by military people, who are fed up with all the PowerPoint presentations they have to endure, when all they want is for someone to get to the point.

From the link below; the PowerPoint Ranger prayer [reminiscent of the rifleman's prayer from the movie Full Metal Jacket]:

"This is my PowerPoint. There are many like it, but mine is [PowerPoint] 97... I will learn it as a brother. I will learn its weaknesses, its fonts, its accessories and its formats... My PowerPoint and myself are the defenders of my country. We are the masters of our subject. We are the saviors of my career."

Here i was one of them ! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/touche.gif

They tortured us with super fancy powerpoint presentations and soon...... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/sleepzzz.gif

And even worse : Horrible cut videos underlined with the worst music the 80ths and 90ths had to offer http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/touche.gif

I remember what the Silent_O had to say to that topic : http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content"> Whooa...good to see that you soldiers get to see the same bland films that we had to watch...

This brings back memories from the O's youth in his professional development courses. When an instructor had to fill his instruction time, he would usually show some cool http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif film about some new weapon system...funny how the soundtracks are the same...I'd call it bad 'Euro-techno' The 'O' would slowly lose to the sleep monster... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/sleepzzz.gif
