Hit ESC before you embariss yourself in front of those http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/heart.gif nurses!! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Dock very slowly, It's nearly impossible to get the boat to stop dead in the water. At this point hit ESC - and "Dock ..'whereever'"

You can dock some 30 kms away for most bases. When your computer stops to load stuff you can dock.

The end mission screen says "Dock at x" instead of "Return to base."

If you really, really want to dock manually, you should be aware of two things:

1) You can select speed directly if you click the little green button below and to the left of the speed selector.

2) Some bases such as Keil and the 7th flotilla will not credit you with your tonnage if you dock to close. Most of them do though. So you can save the game some 100kms out just in case.

I have actualy managed to dock once (St Nazaire or Lorient...cant remember)

it takes patience to stop her dead where you want her.

Oh...ya and I backed her in too, just to be ready for my next patrol..

I used to that as well. It really is good practice for boat handling, being able to think in reverse while looking through the scope.

doing 3-point turns is also fun to do in enemy ports!!

approach the dock at ahead slow, just as your boats nose become level with the docks enterance, hit All stop, and you should drift in just fine.

do you have to dock back at the same port you left from?
