http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gifInformation on Japanese fighters is hard to come by, so I'm starting a new thread.
With all the patches and whatnot there are alot of Japanese Fighters modeled in the game with no text information provided, like for the late Zeros, Ki-100-Ko, Ki46-lll Kai Otsu, Ki-61-l Hei, N1Ki-Ja, N1K2-J. All these are listed in the quick mission builder!

Has anyone tried any of these, on-line or off-line? I am so looking for an answer to the Allied planes! Is there any hope of finding a match in this grab-bag of Japanese fighters?

Also I do wish more server hosts would expand their plane lists to include these planes so at least we could try them in combat.

Sorry for the rant, I'm frustrated, looking for a 'HOT' Japanese fighter (besides the Ki-84 series) http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/cry.gif

You are mislead, ├╝berplanes is not the answer. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Give the ol' Oscar (ki-43) a try and fly it like the japanese; dont get hit.

The Ki-61 is ok though, at least it looks good without beeing ├╝ber.

The Ki100 is a really good turn fighter even though it seems a little slow (and it has really good armamaent if i remember rightly)

Ki84 is the real uber plane of the japanese though and seems to be outstanding in all areas ( as i can see you know http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif).

also as has been said above ki43 oscar is darn good too (very manaevarable) but requires a bit more skill than the 84 as it has weaker armament and doesnt take alot of damage either

I like the Ki-61 and Ki-100 the best.

I should really learn to fight in the Zero. It was legendary after all.

The Ki-100 is an excellent fighter and along with the ki-61 series is the easiest to get used to after flying German fighters but I'm really partial to the A6M3. Its a great fighter if you don't get it moving too fast.

Zero and Ki84...particularly the C model as it winds up your opponent as well as blowing them in half.

I'd give the N1K2J my first vote, but it's not flyable http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif So the Ki-84 gets it.

The Zero gets one as well.

I really like the Ki-100 and the Ki-61. Those guys have real style to them. The Ki-84 is cool...but not AS cool (although better performing).

When I first flew the Ki-43 on JG_Oldies, ever, I got comments like "wow, you really know that plane" I was a complete noob to it. Wonderfully maneuvrable, terribly armed and slow though. It's easy to get lucky in it, if there's plenty of other (faster) planes diving/climbing to randomly attack. I've evaded several, faster, enemy planes back to base just by using the aircraft's exceptional roll rate.

N1K2J George, shame its not flyable ( I am hoping fingers crossed)
Flyable all versions of the KI84 Frank, KI061 OTSU & HEI & the Zero from A6M5B to the A6M7-63 model.
The Oscar is an attractive plane to look at but the gunsight is a nightmare & she is severely underarmed with only 2 machine guns.

All are equally easy to shoot down, so I can't make a choice.

They are all alot of fun to fly, i have to favor the ki43c and a6m2 type 21 zero, the rufe is alot of fun too, i wish we had more flyable seaplanes. I also wish oleg would update my skin ki43 skins, someone moved the black parts outline layer thats why there is black on the wingroot, they also forgot to click the black anti glare layer for the brown skin.

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif Ki-100 and the Ki-43 are my favorites... but the Zero Float Plane is Mint while your taking off or landing.
The Betty is a Blast for some Convoy and Ground Pounding Action though.

I like the Oscar just for the insane maneuverability of the thing.

You've got to be a crack shot to down anything, and you gotta keep winding to not get him, but its really good fun.

Ki-84 then Ki-61. Ki-84 because I can dogfight the German Bf-109's and Fw-190s and still grin on my way home. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/34.gif
Ki-61 coz I skin the hella outta this plane and quite colorful too. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif Not to mention it's pretty good in the air once you get the feel of it. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Without much doubt Ki-43. Assuming that it has 3-blade propeller attached on nose.
