Well, it is good to be able to get back online and post a bit. I've missed everyone and wanted to say so http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Anyway, we are fairly established in our new home. My only gripe is that I am currently needing to use dialup. And herein lies my grief.

The cable tv/high speed internet provider that served my needs for the past 6 years has customers not more than two blocks away from my house, but cannot send a line to me. My block has poles that are owned by another cable tv company . . . one which does not provide an internet connection. I called them (now there's a story! It took me two weeks just to get a rep on the phone), and they told me that they may have high speed here in a couple of years. My previous provider sent a technician here twice. They would have been more than happy (and able) to hook me up, but they can't do any business here at all. I actually called an attourney to see if it was legal for a company to deny me services that would come from another company if they couldn't provide said services themselves. Nobody wants to talk to me about it.

So . . . . As soon as I can afford it I will be getting a dish installed from Direcway. It's expensive, and plagued by latency. It is definitely not a connection for gaming. Granted, I don't fly online often, but when I do I really enjoy it.

Oh well . . . most importantly: Very good to be back online. Thank you to the mods that allowed the "my rig" thread to have such a good run. It was so cool getting to see (and share the sight!) of so many awesome setups. Uploading pics from dialup is just out of the question. My friend, Skidro, often says that I have the patience of a saint http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif Well, dialup is where my patience ends. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/784.gif

And, yes . . . I went to my wife's office, downloaded and burned the 4.01 to a cd, and have been flying it. I guess I'll post more about that later.

Many Blessings!
Tsisqua

Thanks Everyone . . .

Naw, Bearcat, I've checked every option and no dsl here. Splicing in on the neighbor would be a good idea, but jail disagrees with me. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

Carguy, good to see you as well . . .

More than the trees need watering. My grass is really suffering from a lack of rain. We had a couple of short rains here, but are mostly in a bit of a dry spell. At least I am not trapped at home by the river floods http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif.

No landlord. So nice http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Steve, I really don't care whom of those guys in the pic that you are . . . I'm hoping none of them!!!!!! Thanks for the big WB.
