What's the best modern jet fighter sim on the market? I know lock on will probably claim that title in a few months, but what's the best right now?

Yep, every plane feels like a jet in FB.

I've heard the patched Strike Fighters is very good, though it is not quite modern (60s-era).

Some say Flanker , some say Falcon. Choose the one you want but remember Lock On comes out , then , there will be no doubt who the king is.

When it will come outhttp://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif...the release date is straying...after moving it arround a bit they finally got fed up with the question "WHEN" and they wrote "summer 2003". Now amazon is saying something about the end of September 2003...which is kind of "fall 2003" to me...

I'm not in a hurry. If you check game stores nowaday they are full of crapp like Matrix , CSI , HULK , Harry Poter and stuff like that. Of course , you see BF42 , sudden strike and other good games. I think developers are in holiday as well.

Honestly, if it wasnt for the graphics, I like Mig alley for sure. The dynamic campaign is better than ANY out there including our FB.

Take your pick from these two:

*Falcon 4.0, upgraded to SuperPak 3

*Flanker 2.0, upgraded to 2.5 and patched to 2.51

The first has a dynamic campaign, the second is arguably slightly better in other areas. Both hold their age well (with the upgrades) and are still great. Both are fairly serious and towards the 'full on' end of the spectrum. (For something educational, try Ramp Start Training in F4SP3!)

Other jet sims I've tried, not so serious but good fun to play, include USAF and F/A-18.

MiG Alley has a great dynamic campaign but, as somebody else mentioned, is let down by poor graphics. Third-party upgrades have been created but do little to address the graphics issues.

Like most bods out there, I'm hanging out for LockOn!
