HI all,

I would like to orginize the largest IL2 non-AI formation. We would need a TS server that could host 30-50 pilots and a the use of someones IL2 server, I dont think my system would run smooth enough hosting that many planes. I think it would make one hell of a screen shot if we can get the planes in tight enough.

If interested please reply.

Just name the date and time, and my wife will probably find something urgent for me to do... but I'll do my best to ignore her! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Once we get those established, I'll pass word to my squad.

Will having TS be a requirement to join this fun thing?

As I'm not using TS, but do think this could be a lot of fun!

Yes TS will be a must have requirement. Need to communicate.

im in, i'll keep checking back on this. Perhaps if you outline your intentions more clearly, or make a small web site or forum to organize it.

Also I have experience leading large formations. In WWIIONLINE I lead 5 sorties, with about 50 aircraft against their enemy airfields. I am knowledgible in types and how to organize large groups. Were you thinking multiple formations tightly spaced, or one large formation with one leader. Its technically easier to do one large formation, such as a line astern to start off with, then move to echelon. Probably want to do this with invulnerability also, one aircraft, and possibly one custom skin for this.

ok time for a shameless plug - and a sample of just how big you're talking about. 35-50 planes?

109s?

I say "Fly what you fly, and wear the skin you wear". I think this endeavor wants to show the variance in community members. So differnt planes and different skins would be the way to go IMO.

well...you would need to wait a few hours for the skins to download. I considered that not everyone would have Cable or DSL, and the fact that the majority of the people wont be all located in USA, some canada some euro and asia.

i dont know the exact loading time for 50 peoples custom skins...

Alright, lets keep the arguing and disagreements for the FM and DM's.

Stock skins to keep it smooth.

Okay, will try and set it up.
But, what about 'Follow the leader', ie the plane in front of me?

On the other hand, I'm imagining the sound of 30-50 voices on TS at the same time ...
Could that work?
(Sorry to sound like a newbie here, but that's what I am regarding in game voice comms!)

Comms will be kept to a min for formation, it is more so you can hear speed, alt and heading.

The most I've seen online flying together has to be in warclouds and virtualpilots.

Nothing really organized like in formations but groups of 20+ friendlies sticking together in 2 grids.

Unfortunatly this is when the other team has 5-8 players.

In warclouds theres many on blue always trying to get 10+ he111s together but no one wants to stray from their beloved 109s or 190s ever.

On red the most b-25s i seen was a formation of 6 mostly the 310th guys with a couple fighter escorts, usually a 190 is able to pop 4 bombers and critically wound the other 2. While the .50s of fighters just bounce off them and spits get out ran with ease. AI gunners are definatly more deadly then 6 or 8 .50s on fighters trying to cover.

LS, this is obviously not the thread for whining. Take it outside. No one wants to hear it in here.

THis is not going to be a red vs blue formation, This is for everyone to work together and do a formation. Just to do something that we have never seen before without AI.

If someone wants to do it, great, if not then please do not post.

you guys seriously need to consider what you call whining, I misread the topic and thought it said whats the largest bomber formation you have seen online.

Truth is not whines, anything I said, no one can say is untrue and if not please show me differently. And of course im interested if you get a large ammount of bombers online in wc just page me on HL.

Badsight.

Lead , you should have just let it be , you got the thread wrong , you posted stuff that has nothing to do with the topic , just let it be & leave it alone

but back to topic . . . . YOU GUYS BETTER MAKE RCORDINGS OF THIS !

some might think recording a track makes for lag , NOT TRUE , starting & stopping recording makes for mini-pauses YES , but just letting a track record is perfectly OK
