Gun convergence on the 39 for mg's I understand. What about the cannon setting? Will setting the convergence say at 250 meters make a difference in the angle of the shot seing as it is in the nose and only one cannon is present. Will this offset the shot, say compared to a setting of 350. Are we still controlling the angle with the settings?

When you set the convergence for a nose cannon you are setting how fast/much the shot will rise. Try it at 100, then 1000, and you should see the difference.

Sorry, but are you saying that by changing the convergence on a nose cannon, the weapons actual placement in the fuselage is altered slightly (nose up or down)? I'm a bit confused.

I was thinking along the lines of side to side...two guns merging on the reticle at such and such meters. But as Kyrule has just pointed out and you were wondering, it does make more sense for it to be adjusted up and down. Thanks for your imput. I will surly give it a try...need all the help I can get hitting a moving target with only one shot at a time. Like hitting clay pigeons with a rifle.

The P-39 slug is most effective at close range. Try a setting of about 100m and fire from about that range. Practice first on bombers, then on sluggish fighters.

Here's a diagram by Tully that might help your understanding. Hopefully it's sufficiently self-explanatory.

Funny how much response you get when it involves a P39 ....

I mean thank Tully because he is the one who provided the convergence diagrams.
